Family Fun at the Museum of Aviation's "Planes & Trains" Exhibit Through November 30th
The Museum of Aviation's annual "Planes & Trains" exhibit features large model train displays courtesy of the Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club, and there will also be two days where attendees can take pictures with Santa and his reindeer sleigh.
The Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club has created three main lines for the model trains to travel on in the Century of Flight Hanger. The model trains will travel through detailed landscape scenes and miniature buildings, vehicles, rivers, and even an airport.
The Museum of Aviation is located on more than 50 acres right next to Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins. Museum visitors can see U.S. Air Force aircraft, missiles, cockpits, and exhibits and all for free.
The museum opened in 1984 and originally only had 20 aircraft on display that were in an open field. The museum is now the second largest museum in the United States Air Force and the fourth most visited museum in the Department of Defense, according to the Museum of Aviation's website.
On Friday, November 29th, and Saturday, November 30th, the museum will also host Santa, who will have his reindeer sleigh with him for photo opportunities with all the good boys and girls. There will also be a Christmas Village to explore and Circus and Thomas the Tank will be visit with museum goers as well.
While the Museum of Aviation will be closed on Thanksgiving day, it will reopen the day after Thanksgiving with normal business hours. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The Museum of Aviation is located at 1942 Heritage Boulevard at Robins Air Force Base.
