Macon and Middle Georgia will once again be a great place for live music and entertainment this week with comedians, a rock music festival, a free concert on Coleman Hill in Macon, an evening of storytelling, and much more. The following are just a few of the interesting events taking place this weekend in the heart of Georgia.
FRIDAY, APRIL 12
ROBERT JON & THE WRECK AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)
Robert Jon & The Wreck is a five-piece blues rock and Southern rock band from California and they will be performing on the historic Grant’s Lounge stage Friday night. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $20 online at this link or at the door.
The band’s music video for their song “Ballad Of A Broken Hearted Man” has been viewed over 500,000 times on YouTube
JERRY GRANT & THE CORRUPTERS AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
Jerry Grant & the Corrupters will be bringing their rock and roll/blues music to Billy’s Clubhouse late Friday night. Billy’s is the North Macon bar that never has a cover charge.
JUST COS! AN ADULT COSPLAY PARTY WITH DJ B3 AT JBA (9 p.m.)
This event is for those who like to dress up as iconic characters from cartoons, manga, movies, or television. DJ B3 will be on the turntable and everyone at least 18 years old is invited to join. Tickets are $10 at the door for those 18 to 20 and $5 for those 21 and older.

SATURDAY, APRIL 13
AUTISM ROCKS MUSIC FESTIVAL AT THE MUSEUM OF ARTS AND SCIENCES (3 - 9 p.m.)
The Autism Rocks Music Festival will include live musical performances from Matt McMillan and the City Limits, Open Seas, and Laura and the Dale Rivers (formerly Front Porch Radio), lawn games, a silent auction, and more. The event will help raise money for Central Georgia Autism and general admission tickets are $20 online and kids receive free admission at this link or $25 at the event.
COMEDY NIGHT WITH KENN KINGTON AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (6 - 7:30 p.m.)
Kenn Kington, a comedian who you might have seen before on Comedy Central, will be telling funny jokes on the big stage at The Society Garden this Saturday. Afterward, attendees can stick around and listen to live music from the Shane Bridges band starting at 7:30 p.m. Shane Bridges is a singer/songwriter who grew up in Jeffersonville. General admission tickets are $15 online at this link or at the gate and kids 12 and under get in free.
ANTHONY HAMILTON, JOHNNY GILL, AND LEELA JAMES AT THE ATRIUM HEALTH AMPHITHEATER (7:30 p.m.)
Talented rhythm and blues entertainers Anthony Hamilton, Johnny Gill, and Leela James will be performing at the newly opened Atrium Health Amphitheater this weekend. Lawn tickets are $45 (and you can bring in a chair with legs 9 inches or shorter, and seated tickets start at $79 on ticketmaster.com.
ROCK THE 90’S AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE (8 p.m.)
Rock the 90’s is a 90’s tribute band that has been performing since 2015. They will be performing popular hit alternative rock, hip-hop, pop, and grunge songs. General admission tickets are $18 and balcony tickets are $23 online at this link or at the door.
ROCK & ROLL SPRING FLING WITH WEST RIDGE CIRCLE, BLURRY, MAHALO & SOCIAL BATTERY AT JBA (8 p.m.)
JBA will be throwing a Rock & Roll Spring Fling event with music from West Ridge Circle, Blurry, Mahalo, and Social Battery on Saturday night. Tickets are $10 online or at the door
THE BLUE. AND RASPY LEMONS AT FRIENDS ON THE HILL IN WARNER ROBINS (9 p.m.)
The Raspy Lemons, an indie band from Macon, and Blue., a “high energy and heavy emotion pop-punk” band from Milledgeville, will be performing at Friends on the HILL Saturday night. Tickets are $10 at the door and this is a show for those 21 and older.
GROUND HUM AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
Ground Hum will be playing 90’s alternative rock hits at Billy’s Clubhouse early into the morning. This band can often be heard rocking out at Parish on Cherry St. in Downtown Macon.
SUNDAY, APRIL 15
STORYTELLERS MACON LIVE AT CENTENARY: A HUNGER FOR MORE (3 p.m.)
Storytellers Macon and Centenary Community Ministries are presenting “A Hunger for More” on Sunday with stories that revolve around each of our unique paths and what we seek in the world around us. Storytellers will include Anita Hayes, Debra Jackson, Ty Young, and Wayne Welch. This event is free and open to the public and takes place at 1290 College Street in Macon.
SECOND SUNDAY FEATURING ADAM HENDLEY & THE TESTIFIERS (6 - 8 p.m.)
Adam Hendley & The Testifiers will be performing their funky music on Coleman Hill during the Second Sunday concert this weekend. This free concert event is presented by Bragg Jam. Attendees are invited to bring picnics and chairs or blankets, as well as well-behaved pets on chains, to enjoy this family-friendly event.
DAWES AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE (8 p.m.)
Dawes is a folk-rock band that will perform with special guest Paul Spring at The Capitol Theatre on Sunday night. Paul Spring mixes ‘90s pop music and classical music to create his unique sound. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. General admission tickets start at $40 and balcony tickets are $50 online at this link or at the door.
