Bragg Jam is back in town this weekend and there are plenty of ways to experience the one-day music festival taking place at six stages around Downtown Macon. Some people scour the schedule, noting the bands they want to hear and making a personal schedule of what stages they want to be at and when.
Another more laid back way to enjoy the music is by just choosing a genre of music that you want to hear and staying at the stage where it will be played. I have enjoyed Bragg Jam in the past by just visiting different stages during the festival randomly or based just on the name of the act.
Whichever way you choose to experience Bragg Jam this year, this article will hopefully help you get the most out of the unique music festival.
THE STAGES
THE PARKING LOT STAGE is where you want to be if your favorite genre country of Americana music. The acts that will perform on the Parking Lot Stage include Heart of Pine, Scoot Teasley, Taylor Hunnicutt, and Hayden Coffman. The Parking Lot Stage is located next to the Blacksmith Shop (Poplar Avenue).

THE JBA STAGE will be the stage for fans of hip-hop and indie rock. Sabir and Marle Blu' are two hip-hop artists who have been highly recommended by the music-loving minds behind Rock Candy Tours.

If you are more into alternative or indie rock, Ash Tuesday, Torres, and Post Sex Nachos will be your reason to hang out and catch the vibes at JBA this year.

SERENITY ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX STAGE will be the stage for rhythm and blues and soul music this year. Zach Wilson, Phillip Michael Scales, Soul Cartel, and DJ Ad will keep the crowds moving until late into the night at this stage.

CAPRICORN SOUND STUDIOS AND MUSEUM STAGE will be the place to hear mostly Americana music this year. The yearly "Guitar Pull" will feature Caleb Melvin, Eli Carter, Hughes Taylor, and Jackson Griffith. Peter One, Nat Myers, and Billy Allen + The Pollies will also be performing at the historic Capricorn Studios during this year's Bragg Jam.

THE CAPITOL THEATRE STAGE will feature the talented local band The Open Seas as the first performers this year. Evan Honer and Digable Planets will also be performing at this stage during the concert crawl. Just because there aren't many acts playing at this stage doesn't mean it won't be a fantastic place to hear great and memorable music this year.
Digable Planets has been around for a while and their music video for Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat) has been viewed 16 million times on YouTube
THE GRANT'S LOUNGE STAGE will feature performances from The Buckleys, Stewart & Winfield, Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, and The Psycodelics this year.

General admission tickets to Bragg Jam Concert Crawl cost $40 and the first act starts performing at 4:30 p.m. at Grant's Lounge. No matter how you plan on enjoying the music festival this year, make sure you stay hydrated and enjoy all the vibes safely so that you can do it all over again at next year's Bragg Jam!
