A witness reported to The Big Foot Field Researchers Organization's (BFRO) website that they witnessed an enormous and very fast hairy human-like thing cross two lanes of Highway 96 with only a few large steps.
The witness, a Middle Georgia man only identified as C.B., claimed that the thing he saw was "dark colored and upright" and was running "extremely fast" with arms outstretched in front from the woods on one side of the road to the woods on the other side this past Sunday morning, August 25th.
Moneymaker interviewed C.B. after he submitted the report and summarized this discussion on the BFRO website. Moneymaker found C.B. to be believable and to have lived in Butler, Georgia for many years, meaning that he is knowledgeable about the types of wildlife that are known to live in our area.
This isn't the first time a creature identified as a bigfoot or sasquatch has been reported in the same area. In 2015 there was a sighting around the same area where multiple witnesses, including Donnie Harris with the Georgia Department of Corrections, had an encounter with something strange while clearing trees next to Highway 96.
Several people claimed to have seen a large, ape-like being with dark fur, according to Matthew John Moneymaker, Facebook administrator of The Big Foot Field Researchers Organization's (BFRO) page. Several large footprints were located in mud near the area and the workers were also frightened by something growling, making loud knocks, and snapping branches.
There are old folk tales from around the world of unknown species of hairy human-like creatures, including the Skunk ape of the southeast, the Yeti in Asia, the Australian Yowie, and many others.
Considering how many species of animals have had their habitats destroyed and their environments poisoned for many, many years, and how many have become extinct, perhaps it is best if most people continue to think of Bigfoot as a type of folklore.
Or, on the very rare chance there is a huge unknown ape-like creature living in the Middle Georgia woods, may it always remain a mystery until we humans can be trusted to protect their kind from harm.
