This week, there are lots of fun events scheduled, including events for Mercer students, and entrepreneurs, a Winter Artist Market at the McEachern Art Center as well as lots of shows and concerts for music lovers of all kinds. The following are just a few of the unique things to do in the heart of Georgia through November 24th.
WEDNESDAY, November 20th
Mercer Day at Barks N Brews (4 p.m.)
Barks N Brews, the unique off-leash dog park and bar, will present a special for Mercer students on Wednesday, when they will receive free admission and 10% off an annual pass.

Entrepreneur’s Happy Hour at Just Tap’d - Macon (5-6:30 p.m.)
stARTup Macon will be hosting an Entrepreneur’s Happy Hour on Wednesday at Downtown Macon’s Just Tap’d. This event is for entrepreneurs starting or expanding businesses or wanting to mingle with others who face the challenges of running a successful business venture in Middle Georgia. Attendees receive one complimentary drink. Entrepreneur’s Happy Hour is free to attend and takes place on the third Wednesday of each month.

THURSDAY, November 21st
Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards at Fall Line Station (3-6 p.m.)
The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce will celebrate Middle Georgia individuals and businesses who have made positive and significant impacts on the community at the Macon Chamber Annual Awards on Thursday. Tickets to this celebratory event start at $60 online at this link.

Girls Night Out: Girl Dinner Edition in Downtown Macon (5-8 p.m.)
This fun event from NewTown Macon is just for the ladies and invites them to bring their friend group out to enjoy all that Downtown Macon’s restaurants, stores, and drinking establishments have to offer. The list of participating locations with special offers or items for sale includes Bear’s Books, Black Cat, Fall Line, Grant’s Lounge, Just Tap’d, Longleaf Distillery, MD Exchange, Oliver’s Corner Bistro, Rose Room, and Wear.

Still-Life Drawing Session at Artspace Macon (6 p.m.)
Artists and Creatives of Middle Georgia are invited to a self-guided still-life drawing session at Artspace Macon on Thursday evening. Attendees will draw while focusing on “refining skills in shape, value, and color.” This event costs $10 per person, with optional supplies costing $10 more and teens aged 13 to 19 receiving free use of supplies.

Mercer Percussion Ensemble presents Danger Zone with Special Guest Joshua Smith at Fickling Hall (7:30 p.m.)
The Mercer Percussion Ensemble will play along with guest percussionist Joshua Smith at this event, where they will play lively percussion music. Mercer University’s Dr. Marcus Reddick will direct the Percussion Ensemble for this event, which is their fall recital. Danger Zone is free and open to the public.

FRIDAY, November 22nd
Mount Pilot and Jupiter Coyote at the Capitol Theatre (7 p.m.)
Middle Georgia band Mount Pilot is back and will be performing along with Jupiter Coyote on Friday evening. Mount Pilot has performed with bands like Drivin’ and Cryin’, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and The Derek Trucks Band. Jupiter Coyote is a rock band from Macon that sold more than one million records, according to Wikipedia. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m., with tickets starting at $25 online.

An Evening of Heavy Metal Music with Gimmick with The Tarnished, Apostle, Avian Theory, and Massakrd at JBA (7 p.m.-12 a.m.)
There will be an evening of heavy metal music at JBA on Friday night with performances from Gimmick, The Tarnished, Apostle, Avian Theory, and Massakrd. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. This is an 18 and up event, and tickets cost $15 online before the show and $20 the day of the show.

Bob Lennon with Guap Child at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)
Middle Georgia rapper, singer, and songwriter Bob Lennon will present an evening of entertainment with Guap Child as part of his Album Mode Show at Grant’s Lounge on Friday evening. Tickets to this show cost $10 online or at the door.

Saint Social at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)
Indie rock band Saint Social will make their debut at Downtown Macon’s The Hummingbird on Friday night. Saint Social hales from the Gulf Coast and will be playing songs from their debut album as well as popular covers, according to The Hummingbird. Tickets to see Saint Social in concert cost $5 at the door.

Live from the Phil Zone at Vice Bar (10 p.m.)
Musician Alex Stone will present a tribute to Phil Lesh from Grateful Dead at the Life from the Phil Zone show at Vice Bar on Friday evening. There is no cover charge at Vice Bar.

SATURDAY, November 23rd
Winter Artist Market at the McEachern Art Center (10-5 p.m.)
The McEachern Art Center will present its Winter Artist Market on Saturday with artwork, jewelry, ceramics, home goods, vintage, items and more from over 25 local artists and vendors. The venue will also have complimentary snacks and hot chocolate for this unique free event.

Pack the Plex at the Macon Centreplex (6 p.m.)
The Macon Mayhem will face off against the Fayetteville Marksmen at this hockey game event on Saturday. Pack the Plex seeks to fill the Macon Centreplex with Middle Georgia sports fans. Tickets cost $10 online or at the Macon Centreplex's box office.

Sixpence None the Richer at the Capitol Theatre (7 p.m.)
Sixpence None the Richer is a Christian alternative rock band that will be performing at Downtown Macon’s Capitol Theatre on Saturday. General admission tickets cost $30 for this show, and balcony tickets cost $40 online at this link.

11th Annual Roots Rock Showcase at Grant’s Lounge (8 p.m.)
The 11th Annual Roots Rock Showcase will feature music from The Page Brothers, The Shade Trees, Eunoia Valley, The Pine Box Dwellers, and Dave Griffin at the historic Grant’s Lounge. Tickets to this concert event cost $15 online or at the door.

Uncle Lazer at The Society Garden (8 p.m.)
Controversial standup comedian Uncle Lazer will perform at The Society Garden on Saturday. Uncle Lazer is known for his raunchy comedy as well as stories about growing up in the South. General Admission tickets to see Uncle Lazer cost $20 on eventbrite.com.

Tea and Trivia in Hobbiton: A Middle-earth Night at the Pub at Reboot Retrocade (9 p.m.)
A little bit of Tolkien’s Middle-earth is coming to Middle Georgia on Saturday night with Hobbit-themed trivia, a costume contest, and prizes. This event is for those 18 and older, with those 21 and older getting free entry.

Plethra at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)
Middle Georgia rock band Plethra returns to The Hummingbird for a show late on Saturday night. Plethra will perform original music as well as covers from the 90s through the 2000s. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover charge at the door for this concert.

Hangover Jam with Robert Lee Coleman, Sonny Moorman, and Special Guests at the Back Porch Lounge (10 p.m.)
Musical legend Robert Lee Coleman will be performing with his band, as well as Sonny Moorman, and special guests at the Back Porch Lounge on Saturday evening. Tickets will cost $10 at the door.

SUNDAY, November 24th
18th Annual Skydog Music Festival at Carolyn Crayton Park (12-5 p.m.)
The Skydog Music Festival returns to Carolyn Crayton Park this Sunday and will celebrate the life and legacy of Duane Allman. Musicians for this concert event include the Skydog Rhythm Section with Dusty McCook, The Young Brothers, The Time Travel Brothers, Sonny Moorman, and special guest Dave Perkins with Mr. Kyler Mosley hosting. The Skydog Music Festival will benefit DePaul Daybreak, and admission to this unique music festival can be purchased by bringing ten or more of the following events: paper towels, spray deodorant, double/triple black razors, liquid laundry detergent, Pine-Sol, vinegar, coffee, body wash, or lawn trash bags (33 gallon or larger).
