During the first four days this week in Middle Georgia, the adventurous can connect with potential employers at a job fair for all ages taking place in a historic library, learn professional body art techniques in a hands-on creative workshop at The Belltower, get lost in a corn maze while supporting the Special Olympics, discover photography secrets from a talented local photographer, and more. MONDAY, September 29th

CAREERS: Job Fair at Washington Memorial Library (4 p.m.)

Washington Memorial Library opens its doors to job seekers and employers for a comprehensive job fair on Monday. This job fair is designed to create employment connections and highlight workforce resources throughout Middle Georgia. This job fair is hosted jointly by the Business and Nonprofit Center and the library's Young Adult Specialist. It will provide opportunities for patrons across all age groups, from recent graduates to experienced professionals seeking new directions, according to the organizers. This event is free and open to the public.

MUSIC: Mercer University Wind Ensemble present Fall Side-by-Side (7:30 p.m.)

The Mercer University Wind Ensemble collaborates with Veterans High School in a unique side-by-side concert that connects the musical skills of both high school and college students on Monday. This fall celebration showcases contemporary wind ensemble repertoire including "Deciduous" by Viet Cuong and "Zoom" by Scott Boerma. This concert is free and open to the public.

TUESDAY, September 30th

GTX Glow Up: Facepaint and Body Art Jam at The Belltower (5 p.m.)

The Belltower transforms into a creative studio for face and body artists during this hands-on workshop on Tuesday. This unique event teaches professional makeup and body art techniques, starting with two-toned dip flowers. It also allows participants to build custom color palettes without the traditional expensive upfront investment. Attendees receive freebies, enter raffles for curated palettes, and enjoy games and prizes throughout the evening while building skills they can expand in future workshops. WELLNESS: Water Aerobics in Adventure Bay at Rigby’s Water World (5:30-6:30 p.m.)

Rigby's Water World offers daily water aerobics sessions throughout the month of September, providing low-impact exercise for participants of all ages and fitness levels. The Adventure Bay setting creates a fun, relaxed atmosphere for this joint-friendly workout. Beyond the Postcard Workshop with Stephen Cook at Tanglewood Art Studios (6-8 p.m.)

Photographer Stephen Cook shares the techniques and storytelling approaches behind his "Postcards from Macon + Beyond" exhibition in this hands-on workshop on Tuesday that teaches participants to capture authentic sense of place in their photography. The workshop draws from Cook's personal experiences and selected exhibition pieces to demonstrate how familiar locations can be seen with fresh eyes, whether documenting travel destinations or rediscovering local landmarks. WEDNESDAY, October 1st

Corn Maze Play Days (10/1-10/31) (12-5:30 p.m.)

Lane Southern Orchards starts the month of October with daily 6-acre corn maze adventures starting this Wednesday. This year's maze celebrates the Special Olympics, with a portion of proceeds supporting local Special Olympics teams. The corn maze will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout October. Home Landscaping with Master Gardeners at the Washington Memorial Library (6 p.m.)

UGA Bibb County Extension brings Master Gardener expertise to homeowners interested in comprehensive landscape planning and maintenance at this event on Wednesday. Attendees will learn lawn care fundamentals, proper shrub and tree planting and maintenance techniques, and strategies for incorporating perennials and bulbs into home landscapes. Home Landscaping with Master Gardeners is free and open to the public.

THURSDAY, October 2nd

Evening of Hope featuring Jim Morris at the Methodist Home’s Rumford Center (6:30 p.m.)

The Methodist Home presents its 13th Annual Evening of Hope fundraising dinner featuring former MLB pitcher Jim Morris, whose inspiring life story became the Disney movie "The Rookie" starring Dennis Quaid. Morris's journey from high school science teacher and coach in west Texas to Major League pitcher at age 35 demonstrates the power of perseverance and believing in second chances. This donation-based fundraising dinner supports the Methodist Home's programs while providing attendees with an evening of inspiration and community connection. Ladies Night at Main St. Bar (7 p.m.)

Perry's Main St. Bar hosts its first weekly Ladies Night this Thursday night. For the inaugural Ladies Night, the theme will be the "Battle of the Pop Queens: Song & Dance Showdown. Patrons will face off in a friendly competition of lip sync and dance battles celebrating pop music's most iconic female artists. The evening includes special drink promotions, with the first 20 women receiving a free house cocktail. Ladies Night is free for women all night long, with $5 entry for men.
