The adventurous can enjoy two free classical music concerts in historic buildings, fans of Gilmore Girls and Stranger Things can attend two very different types of events in Macon, and those who like the spookier side of life can get their frights at a carwash during the Tunnel of Terror at Tommy's Express Car Wash. The following are just a few of the unique and fun things to do this week in the heart of Georgia.
MONDAY, October 20th
ROAD TRIP: ART: Adult Craft Night: Spooky Raven Wreath at the Griffin-Spalding County Library (6:30-8:30 p.m.)
Patrons at the Griffin-Spalding County Library will have a chance to make a spooky book page raven wreath for Halloween on Monday. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public and all materials are provided.

MUSIC: McDuffie Young Artist Concert at the Bell House (7 p.m.)
Robert McDuffie Center Young Artists will put on a free concert to start of this week at the historic Bell House’s Jennings Salon. This concert series from the McDuffie Center is a perfect introduction to classical music for any music fan. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. McDuffie Young Artist Concerts are free and open to the public.

TUESDAY, October 21st
ART: Virtual Artist Talk with Studio Lemercier from the Museum of Arts and Sciences (10 a.m.)
Studio Lemercier will give a free virtual artist talk on Tuesday morning. FUJI by Studio Lemercier, which is inspired by the 10th-century Japanese legend of Kaguya Hime, will be the next art exhibit in the Wonderspace exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Sciences from October 31st, 2025, through February 28th, 2026. FUJI is an exhibit that is part of a series about volcanoes and features a “large-scale, hand-drawn landscape depicting Fujiyama” along with a projected light, according to the museum. It gives an imaginary and poetic vision of this story in an immersive environment. Join this free virtual artist talk at this link.
HEALTH: Walk ’n’ Talk: Women’s Health Walk with Piedmont Macon in Downtown Macon (6-7:30 p.m.)
Bike Walk Macon will host another Walk ‘n’ Talk on Tuesday. The topic for this Walk ’n’ Talk will be Women’s Health Walk with Piedmont Macon. Participants will meet at the Cotton Avenue Plaza and walk around Downtown Macon after hearing from a healthcare professional about women’s health. This monthly walking series takes place the third Tuesday of each month and involves a one-hour, easy-pace group walk along with a guest speaker talking about a specific topic. Leashed dogs are welcome and participants should be able to walk 3 miles non-stop, according to Bike Walk Macon. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

HEALTH: Aerial Vin to Yin Flow for Manifestation at Wellness Hug (7:15-8:30 p.m.)
The Wellness Hug yoga studio will offer an aerial vin to yin yoga flow on Tuesday evening. Aerial yoga is a specialized type of yoga that involves being held suspended in the air by silk hammocks while you relax and stretch deeply. This unique 75-minute-long yoga class will include a guided meditation to help with “manifestation, dream-fulfilling, and goal-setting,” according to Wellness Hug. WEDNESDAY, October 22nd
FOOD: Meet Me at Luke’s: A Gilmore Girls 25th Anniversary Celebration at Satterfield’s Barbecue (6 p.m.)
Bear’s Books and MD Exchange will present a unique homage to the Gilmore Girls at Satterfield’s BBQ on Wednesday. Meet Me at Luke's: A 25th Anniversary Celebration of Gilmore Girls will commemorate the release of the book “Meet Me at Luke’s: Lessons in Life and Love from Gilmore Girls” by Kristine Eckart and Laura Marr. Tickets for this event include dinner and dessert at Satterfield’s BBQ, with games and prizes as well as exclusive merchandise and books available for purchase at the event. Stranger Things Bar Crawl in Downtown Macon (6 p.m.)
Fall Line Brewing and other Downtown Macon bars will present a Stranger Things Bar Crawl this Wednesday. Patrons will have to find Will Byers who has disappeared into the Upside Down by uncovering clues and figuring out a secret password. This unique bar crawl event includes Hawkins-inspired cocktails. It will end at JBA where you can join The Upside Down Afterparty. Dressing up in Stranger Things cosplay is highly recommended. Along with your ticket, you will receive a crawl map, access to Stranger Things themed cocktails, and entry to the Upside Down Afterparty at JBA along with a custom Fall Line + Stranger Things Hat. MUSIC: Mercer University Wind Ensemble presents Chamber Winds and Friends in Fickling Hall (7:30 p.m.)
The Mercer University Wind Ensemble will perform in chamber groups, including the Brass Quintet and Wind Quintet, on Wednesday night in Fickling Hall. This classical music concert event is free and open to the public.

THURSDAY, October 23rd
ROAD TRIP: Haunted Happy Hour at The Bailey Tebault House (5 p.m.)
The Griffin-Spalding Historical Society’s home is in the historic Bailey Tebault House. This building was erected in 1859 and was at one time a hospital, a funeral home, and a family home, according to the Griffin-Spalding Historical Society. As you might imagine if you have ever watched a scary movie, that history might have left a ghostly presence or two to roam the halls at night, perhaps rattling doorknobs or making low moaning sounds. Guests at the Haunted Happy Hour will enjoy appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks. Adult beverages from Griffin’s bookstore and bar, Myrtle’s Plot Twist, will be on hand for those who like their spirits more spirited, so to speak. After Haunted Happy Hour ends at 6 p.m., author/paranormal investigator Kyl Cobb will talk about his experiences with the Bailey Tebault House as well as stories from his latest book about a “Griffin grifter.” Tickets to the Haunted Happy Hour cost $15 online at this link.

Macon Arts Alliance’s Cultural Awards 2025 (5:30 p.m.)
Macon Arts Alliance’s annual Cultural Awards recognize those who make meaningful contributions to Middle Georgia’s cultural life by their work and/or philanthropic activities. The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. with the award ceremony starting at 6 p.m. Macon Arts Alliance’s Cultural Awards 2025 is free and open to the public.

Toast and Taste at the Hay House (6:30-9 p.m.)
Visitors to the elegant (and possibly haunted) Hay House will sip on small-batch cocktails from some of Middle Georgia’s best restaurants, distilleries, and breweries, while dining on tasty delicacies from some of Macon’s best chefs at the Toast and Taste on Thursday night. In addition, guests can take part in a cash raffle and a silent auction featuring “gourmet dinners, unique experiences, and exciting getaways,” including a haunting experience for 10 in the Hay House itself, if rumors are true. Tunnel of Terror at Tommy’s Express Car Wash (10/23-10/26) (7-9:30 p.m.)
The whole month of October is a time when everything gets a little spookier, including car washes! Tommy’s Express Car Wash will present one of the more unique haunted location events with the Tunnel of Terror, which starts on Thursday evening and runs through Sunday, October 26th. The Tunnel of Terror costs $25 and includes a car wash with your fright (those in Tommy Car Wash’s Unlimited Club get their car wash and spooks for free).
