This week in Middle Georgia, foodies can try over 20 different $12 burgers as part of Macon Burger Week, the curious can attend an evening full of free storytelling in historic Grant's Loung, and lovers of music, trivia, cooking, and more can find lots of fun things to enjoy as well. The following are just a few of the unique (and often free) things to do from October 6th through October 9th in the heart of Georgia.

Macon Burger Week (11/7-11/15) p.m.)

Macon Burger Week started last Friday and runs through this Saturday, November 15th. This year, there are more than 20 participating restaurants serving items like the Spicy Islander Burger (Amici Macon), the Big Dill (Fall Line Brewing Co.), the Sweet Burger Combo (Felicia’s Cake Factory), and the Umami Bomb (Ocmulgee Brewpub). I tried the Umami Bomb on Friday and especially enjoyed the savory taste of the ginger scallion aioli and miso-glazed mushroom as it combined with the Swiss cheese, seven-ounce chuck, and short rib brisket blend burger. Diners can win prizes by getting stamps/points on the Burger Week Passport, as well as vote for which eatery should win the People’s Choice Award. Each Macon Burger Week burger costs $12.
