Adventures in the Heart of Georgia: Things to Do this Weekend in Macon and Greater Middle Georgia

This weekend is going to be busy for adventurers and explorers, with several unique festivals, sporting events, and lots of live music. The next three days will be crowded with events from Bike Walk Macon's Streets for All Fest, the Perry International Festival, and Fall Line Brewing's Art After Dark Festival, as well as celebrations of the first Friday of the month in Macon and Milledgeville. The following are just a few of the interesting, novel, and often free things to do this weekend in the heart of Georgia.

FRIDAY, March 6th

  >> Eggroll Truck in Warner Robins (3/5-3/8)

The Eggroll Truck, which serves loaded eggrolls, is in Warner Robins for the weekend. This food truck restaurant visits locations in Georgia and Florida; if online comments are to be believed, this is a scrumptious meal you will want to go out of your way for. Expect long lines and food so good you might have to go and rave about it online.

  >> FOOD: Fair Food Frenzy in Downtown Macon (12-11:45 p.m.)

Enjoy fair-themed food at 16 participating restaurants and businesses in Downtown Macon during Fair Food Frenzy this Friday. You can enjoy items like a Bubble Wand with Powdered Sugar (Hello Boba Cafe), Fried Apple Pies with Caramel Sauce (Satterfield’s Barbecue), and a Stuffed Oreo Blossom (The Social Duck), as well as much, much more (find all of the participating locations at this link) during this family-friendly event from NewTown Macon.

  >> March First Friday in Downtown Macon (12-11:45 p.m.)

Every First Friday, Robins Financial Credit Union presents a celebration of the weekend in Downtown Macon. This Friday, visitors can tour the brand new Neel's Lofts from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. (make sure to enter at 462 Cherry Street) and learn more about the 95-unit luxury apartment complex while enjoying free beverages. Creatives can visit art galleries and venues for exhibit openings and receptions, including:

 - The Macon Arts Alliance (486 1st Street from 4 to 7 p.m.) for “Wild Things and Magical Places”, from painter Debbie Dent Anderson.

 - The 567 Center for Renewal (456 1st Street from 5 to 8 p.m. will be hosting the13th Annual Bibb County Schools Student Art Show, with artwork from elementary, middle, and high school artists from across the Macon-Bibb County.

 - Wesleyan College Leadership Lab (522 Cherry Street from 5 to 8 p.m.) will include a talk from the multi-talented artist Cedric Smith at 6 p.m. and an exhibit of Smith’s powerful artworks, titled “Layers of Becoming.”

 - McEachern Art Center (332 2nd Street from 4 to 8 p.m.) will continue to present Guilty Pleasures by Brittany Coburn.

 - Gallery West (447 3rd Street from 5 to 9 p.m.) will be exhibiting the photography of serial entrepreneur and friend of famous musicians, Arnie Goodman.

 - Sheridan Studios (586 Poplar Street from 4 to 8 p.m.) will continue exhibiting “Make the Bed,” with 60 artworks by Walker Antonio, artist and art teacher at Woodberry Forest. Modern Mischief’s Tripp Spears will perform from 6 to 8 pm.

Visitors can enjoy live entertainment at historic venues like The Douglass Theatre (Soulful Sounds) and Grant’s Lounge (Top Knotch Band Review at 9 p.m.), or listen to music outdoors at Bragg Jamand NewTown Macon’s Soul Spots.

Those looking to get a workout in while downtown this Friday can join others in the Streets for All Fest, which includes Pure Barre in the Park at Rosa Parks Square from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Lots of restaurants and businesses will also be offering specials to customers, and there are many more family-friendly, and often free, things to do during First Fridays in Downtown Macon.

  >> Streets for All Fest 2026 (3/5-3/7) (5:30 p.m.)

During the weekend-long Streets for All Fest, participants can ride bikes, take walks, and attend community gatherings celebrating activities outdoors on bikes or on foot. The following events will take place at Streets for All Fest this weekend, courtesy of Bike Walk Macon.

Not only will you learn about the process of preparing and baking the cakes, but you will also be taught about the history of the sweet treat. Downtown Milledgeville is presenting the First Friday Fest this Friday. Organizers promise live music, dining and late shopping opportunities, as well as family-friendly fun. First Friday Fest is free and open to the public.

  >> 3rd Annual Fall Line Brewing’s Art After Dark Festival (7 p.m.)

Fall Line Brewing’s Art After Dark Festival is a unique festival that takes place after the sun has set each year. Attendees can enjoy lots of neon colors, glass blowing, fire performers (9 to 11 p.m.), a glow-in-the-dark drag show, and a DJ during Art After Dark. This is another fairly new event that I try to attend every year. I love the fact that it is dark instead of steaming hot and in the daylight like most other festivals in Middle Georgia. Vendors and artists will offer many surprising artworks, accessories, and other items as well. Attendees can also ride in the Glow Roll with Bike Tech Macon, which starts from Fall Line at 7 p.m., with the most impressively decorated bike rider winning a $25 Fall Line gift card. Art After Dark is free and open to the public.

HOCKEY: Dr. Seuss Night at the Macon Mayhem vs. Birmingham Bulls in the Macon Coliseum (7 p.m.)

The Macon Mayhem will pay tribute to the whimsical Dr. Seuss as they face off against the Birmingham Bulls this Friday. The Macon Mayhem will again face off against the Birmingham Bulls during Farm Night, a country-themed celebration, on Saturday night. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the action starts at 7 p.m. Tickets to either hockey game start at $17.35 on the Macon Mayhem’s website.

  >> MUSIC: Magnolia Honey at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)

Augusta’s Magnolia Honey will perform covers of hit rock and roll and Magnolia Honey originals at Downtown Macon’s The Hummingbird on Friday. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover for this show.

SATURDAY, March 7th

  >> RUNNING: Run Fit Sports Forsythia 5K (7 a.m.)

In early celebration of the Forsythia Festival, an arts and crafts show that takes place March 14th through March 15th, runners will get up early and run a 5k this Saturday morning. Check-in and packet pickup start at 7:00 a.m. under the covered Fellowship Hall driveway, and the race begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.

  >> BIKING: Crank to Coffee: Rise & Grind Special at Bike Tech Macon (8-10 a.m.)

Crank to Coffee: Rise & Grind Special is a part of the weekend-long Streets for All Fest. Brave bikers will meet at Bike Tech Macon for a strenuous 20-mile bike ride with 1,500 feet of uphill battles. This Streets for All Fest event is free, but you must register online at this link to participate.

  >> SPORTS: Level Up Scrimmage 2026 at the MGDD Warehouse (10 a.m.-2 p.m.)

The Middle Georgia Derby Demons (MGDD) is bringing back its Level Up Scrimmages, where rollerbladers compete in three different levels, from No Contact to Full Contact. This open-gender event is for all skill levels of skaters. More information about the Level Up Scrimmage 2026 can be found at this link.

  >> GAMING: Disconnect Gaming Lounge Grand Opening (12-5 p.m.)

Warner Robins will have a new game room when the Disconnect Gaming Lounge opens on Saturday. Guests will enjoy 15 minutes of complimentary gameplay sampling. Food trucks will be on site, and there will also be giveaways throughout the event. This family-friendly event is free to attend.

  >> 5th Annual Perry International Festival (12-8 p.m.)

The Perry International Festival features authentic cultural dances, vendors selling a wide variety of everything from clothing to sweet treats. This festival is one I look forward to attending every year, as there is so much to see and try, and lots of good deals to be had. This year, the festival will include different cultural zones, including Italian, Irish/Celtic, Polynesian, Asian, Latin, and African cultures. The Perry International Festival is free and open to the public.

  >> Historic Vineville Mardi Gras Pet PAWrade at Oak Haven Park (1-3 p.m.)

The Historic Vineville Mardi Gras Pet PAWrade is a unique part of the weekend-long Streets for All Fest, presented by the Vineville Neighborhood Association. Participants will dress up as if they are headed to Mardi Gras, making sure to make any pets coming along look Bourbon Street-appropriate for the occasion (and make sure they are leashed and up to date on vaccinations). After a 0.6-mile guided walk to learn about Historic Vineville, the pet parade will begin at Corbin Avenue and Clayton Street. There will also be food and activities, according to the Vineville Neighborhood Association. Register and find out more about this free, family-friendly event at this link.

  >> MUSIC/DANCE: Earlybird Grown Folks Party at Late Nite (6-9 p.m.)

For those who want to go out and party and still get into their own comfortable bed in a reasonable hour, Late Nite presents the Earlybird Grown Folks Party. This is being billed as the “retro early evening club night”. Expect the hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s at this event for real grownups.

  >> MUSIC: Bob Lennon at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)

The one and only Bob Lennon will once again take the historic stage at Grant's Lounge this Saturday. Lennon is known for his genre-blending rap and his skilled songwriting. Tickets cost $10 at the door.

SUNDAY, March 8th

  >> Art Hive: International Women’s Day at Artspace Macon (1-3 p.m.)

Mind’s Eye Connections will celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday with Art Hive, which will include painting and collaging while paying homage to “women past, present, and within ourselves” at Artspace Macon. Art Hive is described by Mind’s Eye Connections as “an open, community-based art-making space that welcomes everyone as an artist”. This event is free to attend (though donations are appreciated to support the much-needed mission of Mind’s Eye Connections), and pre-registration is required.

  >> MUSIC: Trombone Love and Akeara Danielle on Coleman Hill (6-8 p.m.)

Enjoy the powerful sounds of Trombone Love's trumpet combined with Akeara Danielle's soulful singing during Bragg Jam’s Second Sunday Concert on Sunday evening. Families and friends get together for these concerts with neighbors, sitting on Coleman Hill on blankets and chairs, often with coolers full of food, and drinks, while enjoying talented musicians filling the sky with the sound of live music. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

NOTABLE EVENTS NEXT WEEK:

Tuesday, March 10th, 6:30 p.m.: “A Walk in the Park” from Storytellers Macon at Rosa Parks Square and Grant’s Lounge. This storytelling event from Storytellers Macon will include an actual walk through the newly renovated Rosa Parks Square, as well as the usual storytelling on the iconic Grant’s Lounge stage.

Friday, March 13th, 8 p.m.: AC/DC Girls at The Society Garden. Shoot to Kill presents an evening of tribute to rockers AC/DC from an all-female band.


Friday, March 13th through Saturday, March 14th: Peaches to Beaches 2026. This event is Georgia’s longest yard sale and takes place along Highway 341. There will be sellers set up in Hawkinsville, Barnesville, and many other cities across the whole State.


Friday, March 13th, 6 p.m. through Saturday, March 14th at 11:55 p.m.: Camp Terror at Lake Joy Trails of Terror. This camping experience is meant to be terrifying. Campers will be fed a cookout-style dinner, told spooky campfire stories, shown a movie on an outdoor screen, and much more.
