Weekend Adventures in Middle Georgia

This weekend will include lots of adventures for the curious and willing. It will be an especially busy time for yard sale enthusiasts, with the annual return of Georgia's longest yard sale, Peaches to Beaches, to several Middle Georgia cities. An all-female AC/DC cover band will perform, along with many other talented musicians, at venues large and small in cities all across the region. The following are just a few of the interesting, unique, and often free things to do this weekend in the heart of Georgia.


FRIDAY, March 13th

  >> Peaches to the Beaches (3/13-3/14) (8 a.m.-6 p.m.)

Peaches to the Beaches is Georgia’s longest yard sale. It takes place from March 13th through March 14th alongside Georgia Highway 341 (aka U.S. Route 341), from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Shoppers can find vendors selling items in several Middle Georgia cities, including Barnesville, Hawkinsville, Perry, Fort Valley, and Roberta. U.S. Route 341 is 224 miles long, and the roadway is located entirely in the state of Georgia. Those who choose to attend Peaches to the Beaches should look for Official Site Banners and Vendor Yard Signs along Highway 341 for the best places to stop. This event is free to attend.

  >> ART: Arti Gras 2026 at Milledgeville’s Black Heritage Plaza (5:30-8 p.m.)

Middle Georgians will celebrate the spirit of Mardi Gras at Milledgeville Baldwin County Allied Arts’ Arti Gras on Friday. This all-ages event will include hands-on activities where participants will make wish bags, Mardi gras masks, and more. There will be live music from Fall Line Rambler and fire performances from Middle Georgia’s Strange Bedfellows. Arti Gras is free and open to the public, with activity tables costing $5 each and proceeds benefitting Allied Arts.

  >> Camp Terror at Lake Joy Trails of Terror (6 p.m.)

Camping and being scared go together, and Lake Joy Trails of Terror has a two-day event for campers who really want to get spooked. Camp Terror will include a cookout-style dinner, breakfast the next morning, campfire stories, s’mores, an outdoor movie, a scavenger hunt down the attraction’s haunted trails, and, at midnight, a chance to spin the Wheel of Terror, according to Lake Joy Trails of Terror. Actors will also roam through tents, looking for a chance to pull campers away from the safety of their tents. Tickets for Terror Campout are limited but can be purchased online at this link.

  >> Mutiny After Midnight Dance Party at Fresh Produce Records (7 p.m.)

The independent record store Fresh Produce Records will host a unique album release dance party for Johnny Blue Skies and the Dark Clouds’ “Mutiny After Midnight” on Friday. You might know Johnny Blue Skies from the name he previously performed under, Sturgill Simpson. Patrons can dance while listening to the new album, and get a chance to win giveaways as well as a grand prize, according to Fresh Produce Records. The album will be released on Friday, but you can preorder the album from Fresh Produce Records at this link.

  >> MUSIC: Shoot to Thrill (All Female AC/DC Tribute Band) at The Society Garden (8 p.m.)

The all-female AC/DC tribute band Shoot to Thrill will perform at Macon’s The Society Garden this Friday. Shoot to Thrill is based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. The band regularly tours along the East Coast, according to the band’s website. Tickets to see Shoot to Thrill perform cost $15 online at this link.

  >> MUSIC: Cody Matlock at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Cody Matlock will be performing at historic Grant’s Lounge this Friday. Matlock grew up in Calhoun, Georgia, and he began performing at the age of 11. Tickets to see Cody Matlock perform cost $15 at the door.

  >> MUSIC: Tru Phonic at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)

Tru Phonic will perform their unique style of music, which combines funk, rock, jam, soul, hip hop, and more this Friday at Downtown Macon's The Hummingbird. Tru Phonic plays original music by Jake Salter, and it was established in 2017 in Central Florida, according to the band’s website. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover at the door for this show.

SATURDAY, March 14th

  >> St. Patrick’s Arts & Crafts Festival at Market on Madison (9 a.m.-4 p.m.)

The St. Patrick’s Arts & Crafts Festival is scheduled to take place in Downtown Dublin on Saturday as part of the weekend-long Dublin Laurens St. Patrick’s Festival. The streets of Dublin will be closed so shoppers can browse unique items like pine needle baskets as well as baked goods, artwork, and much more. The festival will include an area with slides, trains, mini coasters, and bounce houses for the kids to play on. The St. Patrick’s Arts & Crafts Festival is free and open to the public.

  >> CARS: Flag City Mustang Club Open Car Show at Bass Pro Shops (9 a.m.-3 p.m.)

The Flag City Mustang Club will host an Open Car Show this Saturday. The car club is planning on having a Mustang owned by the Bibb County Fire Department and a vehicle from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on display. Macon’s Mayor Lester Miller will present one winner with the Best of Show award, and $200. 6 other awards of $100 given for everything from Best Ford to Best Mopar. The $25 entry fee helps benefit Macon-Bibb County First Responders. The Flag City Mustang Club Open Car Show is free to attend.

  >> 2026 Dublin-Laurens St. Patrick’s Parade in Downtown Dublin (10 a.m.)

Dublin-Laurens County is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with several events this Saturday, including a St. Patrick’s Parade that starts at 10 a.m. This community event is free and open to the public.

  >> 39th Annual Forsythia Festival Arts & Crafts Show in Forsyth (3/14-3/15) (10 a.m)

The 39th Annual Forsythia Festival is scheduled to take place this Saturday and Sunday. This annual festival is expected to bring thousands of visitors and will include over 200 arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, live entertainment, activities for kids, and more, according to festival organizers. The Forsythia Festival is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates the arrival of spring and the blooming of bright yellow forsythia.

  >> St. Patrick’s Music & Munchies in Downtown Dublin (5:30-11 p.m.)

Dublin-Laurens County’s celebration of St. Patrick’s Day continues with St. Patrick’s Music & Munchies on Saturday evening. Visitors will dance to live music from the Atlanta-based Emerald Empire Band and The Tams, an Atlanta vocal group. This event is sponsored by the St. Patrick’s Festival Committee. Food and drinks will be available for purchase during this family-friendly event. Tickets for St. Patrick’s Music & Munchies cost $23.18 online at this link, with children 10 and under getting in free.

  >> MUSIC: Frank Bang at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)

Frank Bang is the former guitarist for blues icon Buddy Guy, and he will perform at Downtown Macon’s Grant’s Lounge this Friday. Bang is a Chicago native who has released four albums under Frank Bang and the Secret Stash and Frank Bang and the Cook County Kings. Tickets for this show cost $15 at the door.

  >> MUSIC: The Macon Sound at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)

The Macon Sound is a popular local party band that will perform Top 40 hit songs, as well as songs from the many musicians who put Macon on the musical map at venues, at The Hummingbird this Saturday night and early into Sunday morning.

SUNDAY, March 15th

  >> Best Day Ever Yard Sale at The Estate at Stone Creek (12 p.m.)

The Best Day Ever Yard Sale will feature sellers of wedding décor, signage, florals, candles, centerpieces, dresses, event supplies, and more at The Estate at Stone Creek. The organizers especially recommend this sale for brides, wedding planners, or DIY decorators. The Best Day Ever Yard Sale is open to the public.

  >> March Nature Day at Amerson River Park (3-4 p.m.)

The Fringed Campion Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society will host March Nature Day at Amerson River Park on Sunday. Attendees will meet at the playground to read the new StoryWalk story (“Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring” by Kenard Pak), then make a wind chime. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

 > Tuesday, March 17th, 6 p.m.: Sunset Slow Flow at Coleman Hill Park. Yoga teacher Leif Phillips will lead an all-levels, donation-based slow flow yoga class in Coleman Hill Park.


 > Saturday, March 21st, 9:30 p.m.: Medal Militia (Metallica Tribute) at The Hummingbird. $5 cover.


 > Sunday, March 22nd, 3 p.m. Cherry Blossom Parade. The parade will include floats, marching bands, and lots of smiles. The parade’s route will start on Cherry Street, turn right onto First Street, and then right again on Mulberry Street.
