The adventurous in Middle Georgia can celebrate St. Patrick's Day, search for a new job, attend a lecture series, and much more in the next few days. Tuesday's events will include several events to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, including an event from Switch Macon and Just Tap'd that will take over Downtown Macon's 1st Street. The following are just a few of the interesting, unique, and often free things to do this week in the heart of Georgia.


MONDAY, March 16th

  >> TRIVIA: Popular Opinion Trivia Night at Medina’s Mexican Grill in Warner Robins (7-8 p.m.)

Trivia Days hosts its Popular Opinion Show at Medina’s Mexican Grill on Mondays. If the reviews on Medina’s Mexican Grill’s Facebook page are accurate, participants will want to have dinner while battling it out in a friendly trivia game.

  >> NEW BUSINESS: Academy ABA Ribbon Cutting in Milledgeville (4 p.m.)

The Milledgeville-Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the opening of Academy ABA with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday. Academy ABA provides Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This ribbon-cutting event is open to the public.

TUESDAY, March 17th

  >> First Street’s ShamROCK the Block in Downtown Macon (5 p.m.)

Just Tap’d and Switch Macon will present First Street’s ShamROCK the Block, a block party celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, on Tuesday. ShamROCK the Block will include music from Zach Butler (5:30-8:30 p.m.) and DJ Hellooo (8:30-10 p.m.). Just Tap’d will serve specials like green beer and Luck of the Slice Pizza, and host St. Patrick’s Day Trivia at 7 p.m., while Switch Macon will serve unique specials including $4 Green Tea Shots and $6 First Street Car Fires. Finally, attendees can shop vintage clothing (and green shoes) at 6 Ave, or fine art at Macon Arts Alliance Gallery, with a 10% off special to celebrate the occasion. First Street’s ShamROCK the Block is free to attend.

  >> St. Paddy’s Day Color Walk with Bike Walk Macon (6-7:30 p.m.)

Bike Walk Macon’s March Walk ’n’ Talk will be the St. Paddy’s Day Color Walk on Tuesday evening. Participants will pick a green color swatch before the one-hour-long walk, then try to match it to shades of green found in Downtown Macon during this unique scavenger hunt. This event is designed to help participants slow down and notice the beauty of Downtown Macon differently. Bike Walk Macon offers these community events on the third Tuesday of each Month from March to June and September to December, with a guest guide and/or a special topic. The St. Paddy’s Day Color Walk is free and open to the public.

  >> YOGA: Sunset Slow Flow at Evolve Holistic Studio in Macon (6 p.m.)

Yoga instructor Leif Phillips will lead a Sunset Slow Flow yoga class this Tuesday at Evolve Holistic Studio. This class is part of a donation-based yoga series that helps raise proceeds for Downtown Macon’s nonprofit Wellness Hug Yoga Studio; other classes in the series will take place on March 31st and April 7th. Attendees should bring yoga mats and water. Suggested donations for this class range from $10 to $18.

  >> Evenings with History: Ashley Quinn - Eldren Bailey, Grave Maker at Allen’s Market in Milledgeville (6:30 p.m.)

Historian Ashley Quinn will discuss the masonry headstones and sculptures created by a black folk artist named Eldren M. Bailey at this event from Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center at the Depot. Bailey was born in Middle Georgia’s Flovilla and is best known for his large cement sculptures, many displayed in his front yard in Atlanta. This lecture series takes place every third Tuesday and has been taking place for 21 years, according to the organizer.

  >> MUSIC: St. Patrick’s Day Party featuring DJ Carlos Flores at The Hummingbird in Macon (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)

DJ Carlos Flores will keep the St. Patrick’s Day celebration going early into Wednesday morning at The Hummingbird. Patrons will be dressed in green for this late-night dance party, and there will, of course, be drink specials for the occasion. The Hummingbird’s St. Patrick’s Day Party is free to attend.

WEDNESDAY, March 18th

  >> JOB FAIR: VECTR Career Fair at the Georgia VECTR Center in Warner Robins (10 a.m.-1 p.m.)

The Georgia VECTR Center is hosting a Career Fair for veterans, transitioning service members, and community members this Wednesday. The list of employers who will be present at this career fair is impressive, ranging from the 165th Airlift Wing to Waffle House.

  >> SHOPPING: 2026 Spring/Summer Consignment Sale at the Georgia Army National Guard Armory in Milledgeville (3/18-3/21) (10 a.m.-4 p.m.)

The Milledgeville Exchange presents the 2026 Spring/Summer Consignment Sale, where shoppers can find children's, juniors’, and women’s clothing, as well as much more, this Wednesday through Saturday at Milledgeville’s Georgia Army National Guard Armory. Many items during Saturday’s sale will be 1/2 off. This shopping event is open to the public.

  >> Cherry Blossom Sip and Paint with Sarah Tinsley Parker at Switch Macon (6-8 p.m.)

The Cherry Blossom Sip and Paint with Sarah Tinsley Parker will take place at Downtown Macon’s Switch Macon. Patrons will paint, drink cocktails (sold separately), and celebrate the arrival of Cherry Blossom season. Tickets to the Cherry Blossom Sip and Paint with Sarah Tinsley Parker cost $45 online at this link.

THURSDAY, March 19th

  >> Sidney’s Salon with Ren and Helen Davis: Land of Everlasting Hills at Historic Macon Foundation (6 p.m.)

The Historic Macon Foundation will present one of its Sidney’s Salon lecture series this Thursday, featuring Ren and Helen Davis, authors of “Land of Everlasting Hills: George Masa, Jim Thompson, and the Photographs That Helped Save the Great Smoky Mountains and Blaze the Appalachian Trail.” The authors will discuss the dramatic changes that occurred in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina due to commercial logging and tourism. This Historic Macon Foundation event is free to attend, but registration is required.

  >> Transportation Community Meeting: Help Shape the Future of Transportation in Macon-Bibb at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport (6 p.m.)

The Macon-Bibb Planning and Zoning Commission is hosting this community event on Thursday for the county’s Comprehensive Plan update. This event is for members of the community who want to help shape and better understand Macon-Bibb’s “long-term, big picture” plans and goals. This event is free to attend.

NOTABLE EVENTS THIS WEEKEND:

 >> Friday, March 20th: 44th Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony at Central City Park, 12 p.m. State and local dignitaries, the Cherry Blossom Board of Directors, and members of the Middle Georgia Community will celebrate the arrival of the Cherry Blossom Festival this Friday.


 >> Friday, March 20th, 6 p.m.: Ocmulgee Artist Guild’s Ides of March. This fine-art exhibit and art party will celebrate the arrival of Spring and the Cherry Blossom Festival. This unique event is free to attend.

 >> Saturday, March 21st, 12 p.m.: Cherry Blossom Wiener Dog Race. Downtown Macon will be busy with Cherry Blossom Festival activities and events, including the hilarious Cherry Blossom Wiener Dog Race. This family-friendly event is free to attend, but show up early if you want a good view of all the action.
