This weekend, the adventurous can enjoy art, live music, and special deals during First Friday in Downtown Macon, attend a Macon Mayhem Hockey game, celebrate Easter at special events, and more. The following are just a few of the interesting and often free things to do From Friday April 3rd, through Sunday, April 5th, in the heart of Georgia.


FRIDAY, April 3rd

  >> April First Friday in Downtown Macon (12-11:45 p.m.)

We have covered many First Fridays in Downtown Macon in previous editions, so we will keep it short and sweet. Visitors can enjoy live music at multiple venues, with Bragg Jam/NewTown Macon’s Soul Spots at J Reid’s Tavern (Trombone Love) and The Bohemian Den (The Ritmo Soul Band) from 6 to 8 p.m. Anyone can take a self-guided Art Walk, visiting various art galleries around Downtown Macon, where new exhibits will open like “I Still Feel Like a Child,” featuring Rachel Harrelson and Jackson Griffin’s artworks, at the 567 (5-8) or Macon Arts Alliance’s “reSISTERS,” featuring artist and activist She Keene’s work (4-7 p.m.). Gallery West will be featuring photography from Kirk West and a wide variety of fine art from local legends like Kevin Lewis, John Mollica, Maura Lucchese, and others. Art appreciators can also find art in the art gallery located inside of the Bohemian Den (Miss/Constructed with art from Lindsay Hopkins from 5 to 9 p.m.) as well as the other galleries located in the downtown area. Deals will be had at many of the art galleries, businesses, and restaurants in Downtown Macon, with spring specials at Braddock’s Cask and Table, Grant’s Lounge, Lore Gallery, Sweet Eleanor’s, and many other small businesses in the heart of Macon. This family-friendly monthly event is free to attend.

  >> MUSIC/FOOD: City of Centerville Food Truck Friday (5-9 p.m.)

Nashville recording artist Kaleigh Courson will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. during Centerville’s Food Truck Friday. Visitors can enjoy a range of food from food trucks from Chick-fil-A, DOT Bowl, Frosty Frog Shaved Ice, Jail Creek Winery, Kono Ice of Houston County, Kimika Latina Café, Nanny Stuff Concession, Peach Cobbler Factory, Peewee Bakery, Salsa’s Mexican Grill, Shiver Shack Concessions, Scott Boys Smokin BBQ, Soul2Soul Food, and Tasting at the Burrough, according to the City of Centerville. This family-friendly event is free to attend.

  >> HOCKEY: Macon Mayhem vs. Fayetteville Marksmen Game in the Macon Coliseum (7 p.m.)

Hockey fans will get 2 chances to watch the Macon Mayhem take on the Fayetteville Marksmen this weekend, with games on both Friday and Saturday (6 p.m.). Tickets to either Friday's or Saturday’s game start at $25.80 online.

  >> MUSIC: Deaf Andrews at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)

Deaf Andrews is a rock band based out of Charlotte. This band was formed by 5 friends and their sound can be described as “indie pop rock.” Tickets to see Deaf Andrews live cost $10 at the door.

  >> MUSIC: Company of Crows at The Hummingbird in Macon (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)

Company of Crows is a Warner Robins band whose musical style blends rock, folk, Latin, and bluegrass. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover for this show at the door.

SATURDAY, April 4th

  >> ROAD TRIP: Old Buckhead Days Festival and 5K in Buckhead Park (8 a.m.)

Old Buckhead Days will feature The Hill 5K with awards and prizes starting at 8:30 a.m. and a craft show and festival from 10 to 2 p.m. Vendors will also be selling handmade items, art, soaps, candles, pottery, and more, according to the organizers. Buckhead is the “uptown commercial and residential district” of Atlanta, and is located a little over an hour north of Macon. This family-friendly event is free to attend.

  >> ROAD TRIP: 3rd Annual Covington Garden Faire & Market (10 a.m.-3 p.m.)

The Covington Garden Faire & Market will include an artisan market where shoppers can find garden décor, plants, handmade goods, and speciality foods, along with live pet adoptions from 10 to 1 p.m., face painting, live music, a sensory play area, and more. Covington is located a bit further than 1 hour north of Macon. The Covington Garden N Faire & Market is free to attend.

  >> Strawberry Season Kickoff at Lane Southern Orchards in Fort Valley (11 a.m.-4 p.m.)

Lane Southern Orchards will celebrate the opening of strawberry season this Saturday with vendors, food trucks, and, of course, strawberry picking. Lane Southern Orchards will be selling its famous strawberry ice cream. This family-friendly event is free to attend.

  >> Georgia Cinderella Heart of Georgia Pageant at The Douglass Theatre in Macon (11 a.m.)

This pageant event will include a Cinderella and Cameo Girl pageant, with contestants’ ages ranging from toddlers to 29 years olds. Contestants from 7 and up will perform a talent for the judges. 3 crowns will be awarded in every age division, according to the organizer. Learn more about this event online at this link.

  >> Easter Block Party at Faith Life Family Church in Warner Robins (11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.)

Faith Life Family Church invites the public to celebrate Easter with inflatables, a Kona Ice Truck, Easter crafts and games for kids, along with an egg hunt with over 10,000 eggs for kids from 4th graders and down, food, and more. Registration is free for this family-friendly Easter event.

  >> Dickey Farms Easter Celebration in Musella (11 a.m.-3 p.m.)

Musella’s Dickey Farms will celebrate Easter this Saturday with a chance for attendees to pick strawberries, try out onsite concessions, get their faces painted, and more. This family-friendly event is free to attend.

  >> Hitchiti Trail Native Plant Hike in Gray (1 p.m.)

The Fringed Campion Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society will host a hike on scenic Hitchiti Trail this Saturday. Hikers will learn about native plants in bloom like Rhododendron canescens, Penstemon australis, and Scutellaria integrifolia. Ticks are expected to be active and all attendees are encouraged to wear long sleeves and pants, closed-toe shoes or boots, and a hat. This educational hike is free to attend with registration.

  >> MUSIC: The Raspy Lemons with Jesse Mower at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)

Macon’s The Raspy Lemons, made up of talents from several other popular Middle Georgia bands, will be playing along with special guest Jesse Mower at historic Grant’s Lounge this Saturday evening. The Raspy Lemons not only play hit songs from bands you know, but also a mix of original indie music. Tickets to this show will cost $10 at the door.

  >> MUSIC: Sister Sandoz (A Tribute to Nirvana) at The Hummingbird (9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.)

Celebrate the music of Nirvana at The Hummingbird this Saturday night, with Sister Sandoz performing an alternative rock tribute to the iconic band. Sister Sandoz has been described as Tori Amos meets Tool, according to the band’s Facebook page. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover at the door for this show.

SUNDAY, March 29th

  >> ROAD TRIP: Griffin’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt at Griffin First Assembly (9 a.m.)

Children from the age of 0 to 5th grad can celebrate Easter by hunting 20,000 eggs at Griffin First Assembly this Sunday after the house of worship’s two Easter services at 9 and 11 a.m. There will also be an indoor sensory egg hunt. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

  >> Goddess Energy Yoga with Idah Jennings at Wellness Hug in Macon (2 p.m.)

Yoga teacher Idah Jennings will lead a unique all-levels yoga class called Goddess Energy Yoga at Downtown Macon’s Wellness Hug this Sunday. Jennings offers this class every 1st and 3rd Sunday at Wellness Hug. Register for this and other classes at Wellness Hug online at Mindbody.

 > Thursday, April 9th > 6 - 8 p.m.: Park Hop Bike Ride from Bike Walk Macon: Park Hope Bike Ride is a bike party where participants will visit several public spaces, some you might not even be aware of, during this family-friendly and free event on Thursday evening.


 > Friday, April 10th > 8 p.m.: Gray City Limits at The Society Garden in Macon: Gray City Limits is made up of talented young musicians from the small city of Gray, which is located between Macon and Milledgeville, this Friday night. There will be a $10 cover at the gate for this show.


 > Saturday, April 11th > 8:30 a.m.: 2026 Art Healthy Festival and 5K Run/walk: More than 100 vendors and exhibitors will take part in the 2026 Art Healthy Festival on Saturday, with activities for attendees including Tai Chi, a Bike Rodeo, Line Dancing, and more.


  > 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Magnolia Market & Chalk Walk in Eatonton: This family-friendly event in Downtown Eatonton will include large chalk artworks, arts and crafts vendors, opportunities for shopping, and more. The Magnolia Market & Chalk Walk is free to attend.
