Macon will have fun events for Disney loving adults and kids, storytelling, comedy, and plenty of live music throughout this week. 

Monday, May 9th

iStroll Disney Day at Amerson River Park (9:30 a.m.)

iStroll, LLC Macon is hosting this Disney themed event at Amerson River Park for parents and their kids. There will be a 60 minute long "themed workout" for both the parent and costumed kid and a crafting event afterwards. iStroll, LLC Macon asks new participants register at their website. Amerson River Park is located at 2600 Riverview Road in Macon.

Tuesday, May 10th

Spring Cornhole League at Fall Line Brewing Co. (6:30 - 8:30 p.m.)

Peach State Cornhole and Fall Line Brewing Co. have come to host the last event of the Spring Cornhole League. This event is the Peach State Cornhole City Tournament that ends the season. Fall Line Brewing Co. is located at 567 Plum Street in Macon.

Storytellers Presents: Tracking Heritage at Grant's Lounge (6:30 - 9 p.m.)

 Storytellers Macon brings a storytelling event to Grant's Lounge that revolves around heritage, how we track it, and how it made the storytellers who they are. Tracie Revis, the Director of Advocacy of the Ocmulgee National Park and Preserve, will be the featured storyteller for the evening. If you are interested in telling your own 5 minute, uncensored story, you can sign up on Storytellers Macon's website. Grant's Lounge is located at 576 Poplar Street in Macon.

Wednesday, May 11th

Clockwork Comedy Open Mic at stARTup Studios (7:30 - 10 p.m.)

Clockwork Comedy host another night of open mic comedy this Wednesday at stARTup Studios. Attendees are invited to try their jokes on a live audience of their peers. Seasoned comedians will be on hand to encourage and assist amateur comedians and sets will be limited to 5 minutes. stARTup Studios is located at 1055 Riverside Drive in Macon.



Thursday, May 12th

Macon Bike Party - Society Garden/Ingleside Area (6:30 p.m.)

Bike Walk Macon invites you to take a bike ride through the historic "Vine-Ingle" neighborhood. This event will include a quick yoga session with Renee Corwine at Jefferson Long Park and a visit to The Society Garden afterwards. Participants are asked to meet at 6 p.m. at Society Garden and the bike ride is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Society Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue in Macon.

Laney Jones at Grant's Lounge (9 p.m.)

Grant's Lounge brings another talented performer to its historic stage with Laney Jones. This singer/songwriter's songs are emotional and moving. Jones' most recent album is "Stories Up High". Tickets for this performance are $10 and can be purchased at Grant's website. Grant's Lounge is located at 576 Poplar Street in Macon.

Friday, May 13th

My Roaring Twenties: A Celebration Benefitting Storytellers Macon at Grant's Lounge (6:30 p.m.)

Grant's Lounge is hosting this event as a benefit for Storytellers Macon. This organization has been bringing open mic storytelling to Macon by people in middle Georgia from all walks of life. Julia Rubens of The Grand Opera House will host this event and DeMarcus Beckham and Ivy Clarke will be the featured storytellers. Beckham and Clarke will be telling stories about their own "roaring twenties" to delight and amuse the crowd. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased from Eventbrite.comGrant's Lounge is located at 576 Poplar Street in Macon.

Brother & Sister at The Big House (8 p.m.)

The Allman Brothers tribute band, Brother & Sister (featuring Vaylor an Melody Trucks) will be performing at The Big House Museum for the first time Friday night. The Big House Museum is located at 2321 Vineville Avenue in Macon.

Saturday, May 14th

13th Annual All About Animals Rescue Run/Walk (8 a.m.)

The All About Animals Rescue Run/Walk will include 1 mile, 5k, and 10.2k races. Tickets for this event range from $30 to $35 and all proceeds will benefit All About Animals, a no-kill rescue shelter in downtown Macon. The race will begin at 7015 Rivoli Road in Macon.

Picnic in the Park: Food Truck Festival! in Central City Park (11 a.m.)

Central City Park will hosts multiple food trucks for a Food Truck Festival with picnicking encouraged. There will be music and family-friendly fun. Attendees are invited to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Central City Park is located at 115 Willie Smoke Glover Drive in Macon.

Joan Jett & the Blackhearts at Macon City Auditorium (7:30 p.m.)

Joan Jett is one of the original "bad girls" of rock and roll and is also a "songwriter, composer, musician, record producer, and actress", according to Wikipedia. Tickets for this event cost from $46.75 and can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com. Macon City Auditorium is located at 415 First Street in Macon.

Sunday, May 15th

Robert Lee Coleman Birthday Jam and Family Picnic at Grant's Eagles Nest (3 p.m.) 

The very talented Robert Lee Coleman is having his 77th birthday and the public is invited to celebrate it with him and his family and friends. The entry fee of $10 will include a meal and drinks will be available for purchase: children under 16 get in free. Attendees are invited to bring their own food and drinks in coolers as well as their pets (and fishing poles if they would like to fish). Music starts at 5 p.m. Grant's Eagles Nest is located at 3115 Masseyville Road in Macon.

Patti LaBelle: A Legendary Evening at Macon Centreplex (7 p.m.)

The legendary Patti LaBelle, whose well-deserved nickname is "Godmother of Soul" will be performing at the Macon Centreplex on Sunday. Tickets for this event start at $52.50 and can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The Macon Centreplex is located at 200 Coliseum Drive in Macon.
