PRESS RELEASE: Rogers Education Fund established at NewTown Macon

Macon, GA – NewTown Macon Board of Directors Chair William D. Underwood has announced the establishment of the Jack and Ellie Rogers Education Fund.

Josh Rogers, 42, president and CEO of NewTown Macon since 2014, died tragically and unexpectedly Sunday evening, leaving behind his wife, Meaghan, and their two children, Jack, 10 and Ellie, 7.

Throughout his tenure at NewTown, Josh’s commitment to revitalizing the heart of Macon extended beyond his professional endeavors and encompassed his family. As he once said, “My commitment to downtown and NewTown is a really special one that involves my whole family.”

The fund will be used to help cover education costs for the Rogers children. NewTown board members will contribute to the fund, and welcome contributions from community members to support future education opportunities for Jack and Ellie.

To contribute to the Jack and Ellie Rogers Education Fund, go to www.newtownmacon.com/donate and select “Jack and Ellie Fund” from the drop-down menu. Contributions are not tax-deductible.

Josh Rogers’ memorial service will be held on Monday, December 2 at 11 a.m. in Willingham Hall’s Toney Auditorium on Mercer University’s campus. More details will follow.
