PRESS RELEASE: Museum of Aviation Foundation and Middle Georgia State University Announce New Partnership, Kicking Off with Robotics Educator Camp

Warner Robins, Ga. – The Museum of Aviation Foundation’s National STEM Academy successfully hosted a two-day STEM Educator Camp titled “Intro to Robotics” this past week at Middle Georgia State University in Macon, Georgia.

This free workshop kicked off an official partnership between the National STEM Academy and Middle Georgia State University (MGA), aimed at advancing STEM education across Georgia. Teachers participating in the camp earned 1.3 Continuing Education Units and were provided a fun and practical way to meet professional development requirements while gaining hands-on experience with robotics instruction.

As a bonus, each educator was able to register one 1st–5th grade student to attend the camp with them, giving both teacher and student a chance to explore STEM concepts together.

“I’m thrilled about our partnership with Middle Georgia State University, said Dan Rhoades, President/CEO of the Museum of Aviation Foundation. He continued, “It enables us to deliver exceptional summer classes across middle Georgia and distinctive internship opportunities for students, deepening our community’s connection to the Air Force, Robins Air Force Base, and regional progress. This collaboration will ignite passion in future generations, propelling them to excel in STEM and aviation while fostering innovation throughout our region.”

"Partnering with the Museum of Aviation aligns perfectly with MGA’s mission to serve as a hub for innovation and educational opportunity,” said David Jenks, Ph.D. - Provost and Senior Vice President Academic Affairs at Middle Georgia State University. He continued, “By working together to offer programs like the Robotics Educator Camp, we are not only strengthening STEM education for teachers and students but also building pathways to careers in high-demand fields in Warner Robins, Macon, and the Middle Georgia Region. We’re excited to support this shared vision for regional growth and lifelong learning."
