PRESS RELEASE: Tubman Museum Appoints Yolanda Y-O Latimore as Development Coordinator

MACON, GA November 4, 2025 – The Tubman African American Museum is thrilled to announce the appointment of Yolanda Y-O Latimore as its new Development Coordinator. A passionate advocate for the arts and a renowned figure in the Macon cultural scene, Latimore officially assumes her role to advance the museum's fundraising efforts and community engagement initiatives.

Latimore, widely known as "Y-O," brings a wealth of experience in arts administration, community organizing, and cultural programming. She is the founder of Poetic Peace Arts, a grassroots organization in Macon dedicated to supporting and promoting poets and spoken word artists, and has been a driving force in making the arts accessible and vibrant in Middle Georgia for years. Her extensive background includes grant writing, event coordination, and building strong relationships with local organizations, including previous collaborative efforts with the Tubman Museum.

The Tubman Museum, the largest museum in the Southeast dedicated to African American art, history, and culture, is committed to educating people and promoting harmony among all races. Latimore's proven dedication to community enrichment and her deep ties to Macon will be invaluable as the museum seeks to expand its reach and secure resources for its exhibitions, educational programs, and operations.
