PRESS RELEASE: Atlanta’s Legendary Pink Pig Returns for a Second Year at The Georgia Festival of Trees
A beloved holiday tradition continues November 22–30 at the Gas South Convention Center
ATLANTA, GA – [November 11, 2025] – Following its wildly successful revival last year, Atlanta’s most nostalgic holiday icon, the Pink Pig (*the Pink Pig is a trademark of Macy’s), is back again to delight families at this year’s Georgia Festival of Trees, taking place November 22–30, 2025, at the Gas South Convention Center.
First introduced in 1956 at Rich’s Department Store downtown, the Pink Pig* became a symbol of holiday joy for generations of Atlantans. Decades later, after long runs at both Rich’s and Macy’s Lenox Square, the ride took a brief pause - until the Georgia Festival of Trees brought it back in 2024 with a completely reimagined design and experience for today’s families.

Now, in 2025, the Pink Pig* returns for another season of smiles, laughter, and Atlanta nostalgia. The ride’s updated version features an open-air, five-car train that carries guests on a whimsical journey narrated by Penny the Pink Pig, granddaughter of the original Priscilla. Along the route, riders hear fun facts about Atlanta’s holiday traditions and the history of the Pink Pig* itself. Penny and her brother Porter will also make appearances throughout the festival for meet-and-greet moments and festive photo ops.
“The Pink Pig has always been more than a ride - it’s a shared Atlanta memory,” said Angie Ulibarri, Founder and Executive Director of the Georgia Festival of Trees. “Seeing families connect over that nostalgia last year was incredibly special. We’re thrilled to welcome Penny and Porter back again this year to carry on that joy and tradition.”
In addition to the Pink Pig*, this year’s Georgia Festival of Trees will feature:
- Over 200 elaborately decorated trees available for viewing and auction
- Special themed days to wear cozy pajamas or ugly sweaters, with chances to win prizes
- A boutique shopping experience, free photos with Santa, live entertainment, sugar cookie decorating, special themed events and so much more - including a special appearance from Buddy the Elf on opening day, November 22!
Tickets for the Pink Pig ride are $5 per person, with proceeds supporting the festival’s nonprofit beneficiary, Street Grace.
