Atrium Health Amphitheater Takes Center Stage: Newly Named Music Venue has its Inaugural Concert Set for late March
Atrium Health, a prominent player in the Middle Georgia healthcare landscape, has stepped into the realm of arts and entertainment. The highly anticipated newest music venue in Macon has officially been christened the Atrium Health Amphitheater this past week.
The amphitheater has been designed to accommodate approximately 10,000 people and was announced in September 2021.
A Facebook post by Mayor Lester Miller that month asked Middle Georgians to suggest who the first performers to appear at the amphitheater.
Along with concerns and suggestions from concerned citizens, many answered with the names of artists like Lizzo, Widespread Panic, Alan Jackson, Allman Betts, Run DMC, Rick Springfield, and Jason Aldean (who is scheduled to perform in October)
The first concert scheduled to take place in the Atrium Health Amphitheater will be the southern rock bands Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top, who will be touring on the The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour, on March 24th.
There are several other concerts also currently scheduled to take place at the amphitheater, including Riley Green and Tracy Lawrence (April 4th), Anthony Hamilton with Johnny Gill featuring Johnny Gill (April 13th), and the Turnpike Troubadours (April 27th).
Tickets for the inaugural concert as well as the concerts already scheduled for April are currently on sale online and can be purchased on ticketmaster.com through the Atrium Health Amphitheater's website.
Many local businesses and community leaders have rallied behind the initiative, expressing their support for the Atrium Health Amphitheater as a catalyst for economic growth.
There have already been discussions about a Casino hotel, a new restaurant plaza called "Mac-Town", and more being built around the revitalized Macon Mall and Atrium Health Amphitheater according to Wikipedia.
As the city gears up for the arrival of this enormous music venue, anticipation is building for an unforgettable evening in March when the Atrium Health Amphitheater will come alive with the familiar sounds of "Free Bird", "Simple Man", and "Gimme All Your Lovin'".
