NewTown Macon Announces $1 Million Dollar Investment Being Made Available for Macon-Bibb's Entrepreneurs and New Type of Bowling Coming to Downtown Macon
NewTown Macon and Synovus announced a "significant investment" that will allow NewTown Macon to "expand its lending activities" while celebrating a new project and business in Downtown Macon at a press conference on Thursday, November 9th.
During the press conference, it was announced that NewTown Macon, in partnership with Synovus Bank, are making $1 million dollars available to Macon-Bibb entrepreneurs. NewTown Macon's Josh Rogers encouraged anyone with a business idea for Downtown Macon to contact them to see if they might be able to help.
During the press conference, it was also revealed that the last non-developed building on Downtown Macon's Second Street will soon be the home of an exciting new business.
Dr. Kris Ellis, owner of Bearfoot Tavern and the up-to-now vacant building next door, announced that the building will soon be used as a place where Downtown visitors can take part in a fun activity. Part of the building will be used as a place where people can play a kind of bowling called duckpin bowling where the bowling balls have no holes, the pins are smaller and lighter, the lanes are shorter, and there are no bowling shoes required to play.
Dr. Ellis also announced that this was part of a 5 year commitment and different parts of the building are planned to be developed in other ways further into the future.
