PRESS RELEASE: NewTown Macon partners with local colleges and universities to bring back the MAC Party on Friday, October 18th

WHAT: MAC Party to invite Macon area college students to explore and engage with downtown Macon

WHEN: Friday, October 18 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

WHERE: Cotton Avenue Plaza, Downtown Macon

MORE INFO: NewTown Macon, in collaboration with Mercer University, Middle Georgia State University, and Wesleyan College, is bringing back the MAC Party, a signature event that introduces college students to downtown Macon and its vibrant community. The MAC Party creates a fun and engaging environment where students from all three institutions can connect, explore, and experience what downtown has to offer.

The evening kicks off with a high-energy dance party in Cotton Avenue Plaza featuring CMD Styles. Students will also have the opportunity to engage with representatives from NewTown Macon, the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Macon to learn more about the city. Afterward, students can explore locally owned businesses offering special discounts and promotions to anyone with a valid college ID, welcoming them into the heart of downtown Macon.

"The MAC Party is an essential event that not only brings our community together, but also highlights the vibrant energy of downtown Macon," said Ken Blair, Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives at Wesleyan College and member of NewTown’s Main Street board. "It offers a unique opportunity for college students to connect with local businesses and the wider community, fostering partnerships that strengthen both the city and its academic institutions."
