There are plenty of fun things to do in the heart of Georgia the week before Christmas, including ice skating in the Macon Coliseum, enjoying a puppy parade at The Patio at Rigby's, and much more. The following are just a the few interesting events taking place in Middle Georgia the week of December 18th through 24th.


MONDAY, December 18

$2.00 Holiday Skating at Gray-8-Skate Family Entertainment Center in Gray (11 a.m. - 5 p.m.)

Gray-8-Skate is having a special deal for the holidays for Middle Georgia families. During this deal, customers will pay only $2 for skating, $2 for skate rental, and $2 to use the playground.

Millie’s Treats and Chick-fil-A of Warner Robins Dog Day (1 - 9 p.m.)

Millie’s Treats invites dogs and their owners to Chick-fil-A in Warner Robins for a special "Chick-fil-A pup biscuit" on Monday.

Photos with Santa at the Houston County Galleria (3 - 7 p.m.)

Jolly Old Saint Nick will be at the Houston County Galleria this week through Christmas Eve. While there, he will even be posing with mall customers for photographs.

TUESDAY, December 19

Make Music Winter and Silent Santa at Middle Georgia Regional Library (4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.)

The Middle Georgia Library will be hosting two special events on Tuesday. First, the NAMM Foundation presents Make Music Winter. This event will be full of interactive music entertainment for children and families. Then, starting at 6 p.m., there will be a low-sensory program called Silent Santa. This event is for special needs patrons who will get a chance to visit with the man in the red suit. Please call (478) 310-2161 to RSVP if you would like to attend Silent Santa.

WEDNESDAY, December 20

Country Christmas Crawl at Fall Line Brewing Co. (6 p.m.)

The Country Christmas Crawl is a Christmas-themed bar crawl and murder mystery event. Participants will visit various bars around Downtown Macon trying to solve the mystery. The check-in at Fall Line Brewing Co. will start at 6 p.m. and the event ends at JBA later on in the night. Tickets to the County Christmas Crawl cost $12 on eventbrite.com.

THURSDAY, December 21

Wrestling Clinic at Rush Mixed Martial Arts (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)

This wrestling event is for children in grades K-5 through high school. The younger kids will “stay on singles, front headlocks, and half”. They will compete against each other to earn prizes from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Afterward, the older kids will be “learning scoring from defense”. Then they will take part in a “takedown tournament”. They will wrestle from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets to the Wrestling Clinic cost $20 at the door.

Stargazing with Middle Georgia Astronomical Society at Centerville Public Library in Centerville (6 p.m.)

This family-friendly event is for anyone curious about the night sky. Attendees can bring their telescopes or use the MGAS' telescope. This event is free and open to the public.

FRIDAY, December 22

The Holiday Maze at Bloomfield-Gilead Recreation Center (5 - 8 p.m.)

Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreations presents this fun holiday event. Participants will navigate a large holiday maze. Once they make it through, they will find Santa and “his holiday family”. There will also be games, music, and food at The Holiday Maze.

The Holiday Maze is presented by Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation

Santa Comes to Town and Faith and Family Night at the Macon Mayhem vs. Pensacola Ice Flyers Hockey Game at the Macon Coliseum (7 p.m.)

The Macon Mayhem will play the Pensacola Ice Flyers for an exciting game of hockey on Friday night. Santa is likely to make an appearance and it is also Faith and Family Night. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $14 on ticketmaster.com.

The Karaoke Before Christmas at Reboot Retrocade & Bar (9 p.m.)

Reboot Retrocade & Bar will have their last karaoke night of the year on Friday. The Karaoke Before Christmas, hosted by Talk Nerdy to Me, is for patrons 18 years old and older. This event is free and open to the public.

SATURDAY, December 23

Rosa Jackson Center presents My Bucket Wish List (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)

My Bucket List is for athletes 18 years and older who want to compete against each other in friendly basketball games. Participants must donate a toy or gift to play. For more information, contact Mr. Brown at (478) 751-9169.

Rigby’s Puppy Parade at The Patio at Rigby’s in Warner Robins (1 p.m.)

Humans and their furry best friends are encouraged to dress up in Christmas attire for a “paw-ty” at The Patio at Rigby’s. The event will include a puppy parade and pictures with Santa.

Pajama Jam Christmas Bash at Houston County Galleria in Warner Robins (1 - 3 p.m.)

The Pajama Jam Christmas Bash will include holiday characters, a DJ, crafts, face painting, balloon twisting, and even snow.

Public Ice Skating in the Macon Coliseum (4 - 5 p.m.)

There will be several chances to skate on the ice rink in the Macon Coliseum on Saturday. The skating sessions are one-hour long. Attendees should bring socks to ice skate, not use cellphones on the ice, and be aware of the venue’s clear bag policy. There will also be ice skating sessions on Saturday at 2, 46, and 8 p.m. Tickets cost $7 on ticketmaster.com.

SUNDAY, December 24

Christmas Eve Brunch at Loom (3 - 8 p.m.)

If you are looking for a place to enjoy a Christmas Eve brunch, Hotel 45’s Loom has you covered. They will be offering a Christmas Frittata special for $14 that includes roasted red bell peppers, caramelized onions, arugula, and feta with a choice of roasted breakfast potatoes or grits.
