The second weekend of January will feature a performer paying tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John, DJs playing at multiple venues around Middle Georgia, and much more. The following are just a few of the live music shows you can attend this weekend in the heart of Georgia.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 12
THE MUSIC OF BILLY JOEL AND ELTON JOHN FEATURING MICHAEL CAVANAUGH AT THE GRAND OPERA HOUSE (7:30 P.M.)
Michael Cavanaugh will perform the music of Billy Joel and Elton John this weekend at the Grand Opera House. Cavanaugh is a performer and musician who came to fame as the pianist and lead vocalist in the Broadway production “Movin’ Out”. There will be two shows, one on Friday and one on Saturday. Ticket prices start at $35 online or a the Grand Opera House’s box office.
INNERBEING AND BRENT THOMASON AT CLUB HONEY (8 - 10 P.M.)
Oh Honey Baking Co. will transform into a very unique music venue, Club Honey, which will be hosting Buzz Fest this Friday. Buzz Fest will include musical performances from Innerbeing and Brent Thomason as well as booths from local vendors including Artspace Macon, The West Collective, and Prachi Henna Art.
THE RASPY LEMONS AT VICEBAR (9 P.M.)
The band The Raspy Lemons will perform at one of the newest music venues and bars in Downtown Macon this Friday night. The Raspy Lemons will be celebrating the birthday of fellow musician DJ CL33BO at this performance. There is no cover charge at Vicebar.
NEAL LUCAS TRIO AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 P.M.)
The Neal Lucas Trio is made up of Neal Fountain, Neal Lucas, and Sean O’Rourke. Tickets to see the band perform cost $10 online or at the door.
JAK THE ACT, DJ PATTY SPICE, AND ERIC MCCLOUD AT JBA (10 P.M.)
Three talented performers will take the big stage at JBA late Friday night: jak the act, DJ Patty Spice, and Eric McCloud. JBA also has multiple pool tables, dart boards, and three separate bars for when you need to take a break from the dancing.
WEST RIDGE CIRCLE AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 P.M.)
Macon’s West Ridge Circle will be performing at Billy’s Clubhouse late night on Friday. Billy’s Clubhouse is a music venue and bar in North Macon that never has a cover charge.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 13
ROAD TRIP: DJ SCOTT HOUSTON AT THE CHAPEL ON SYCAMORE IN DECATUR (1 - 4 P.M.)
DJ Scott Houston will be leading Sol Dance, an ecstatic dance (a form of dance that serves as a form of meditation) with live drummers including the talented AJ Nocito this Saturday at the very historic The Chapel on Sycamore. There will also be live painting from Visibleman Arts, tribal face painting from Bruan Molina, and more. General admission tickets to Sol Dance cost $25 online.
DJ CLARKAFTERDARK AT HIGHTALES ROOFTOP BAR (8 - 11 P.M.)
Hotel Forty Five’s Hightales Rooftop Bar will host a performance from DJ ClarkAfterDark on Saturday. DJ ClarkAfterDark is a musician from Macon who is inspired by different genres of electronic music. There is no cover charge at Hightales Rooftop Bar.
DUSTIN MCCOOK BAND AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 P.M.)
The Dustin McCook Band will be performing at the historic Grant’s Lounge on Saturday. Dustin McCook is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist based out of Atlanta who is from Macon. He also leads The Dustin McCook Trio. Tickets to the show cost $10 online or at the door.
DJ WILLIE D AT JBA (10 P.M.)
The one-and-only DJ Willie D will perform at JBA late Saturday night. He will be spinning “tasty classics”, according to JBA.
ALL THE LOCALS WITH BRIAN REVELS AND HEATLIGHTNING AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 P.M.)
All the Locals is a “soulternative” band from Atlanta who will be returning to perform at Hummingbird. Brian Revels and Heatlightning will be opening for the band. The Hummingbird will charge a $5 cover at the door for this show.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 14
LOCAL FOLK AT BUFFINGTON’S IN MILLEDGEVILLE (6 - 9 P.M.)
The band Local Folk will perform at the restaurant and music venue Buffington’s in Milledgeville this Sunday. Buffington’s does not have a cover charge.
