From the band that brought you the hit song "Still the One" to disco night with the Macon Pops, this week will be a good one for music lovers in Middle Georgia. The following are only a small selection of the talented musicians who will perform at venues all around the heart of Georgia during the next few days.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9
ORLEANS AT THE GRAND OPERA HOUSE (7:30 p.m.)
The pop rock band Orleans has been performing for half a century and they will be taking the stage at the Grand Opera House this Friday. They are probably best known for their hit songs “Dance with Me” (1975) and “Still the One” (1976). Tickets to see Orleans in concert start at $25 on tixr.com or at the Grand Opera House’s box office.
HUGHES TAYLOR AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8 - 10 p.m.)
The talented Hughes Taylor will bring his unique sound, which combines the sound of Hendrix’s guitar playing with the blues and southern rock, back to the Society Garden this Friday night.
ACE MONROE AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)
The rock and roll band Ace Monroe will perform on Grant’s Lounge’s historic stage on Friday. The band is made up of Robbie Dylan on lead vocals, Josh Alfano on lead guitar, Jack Kaiser on rhythm guitar and vocals, Jonathan Tatooles on drums, and Erik McIntyre on bass. The doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets to see Ace Monroe perform cost $10 in advance on seetickets.us or at the door.
BLUE AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
Blue is a emo and pop punk band from nearby Milledgeville and they will be returning to Billy’s late Friday night.
HEDONISTAS AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m.)
The Hedonistas is a rock and soul band that will be bringing the funk to The Hummingbird Friday. Tickets to see the Hedonistas live will cost $5 at the door.
DJ PICKLES AT JBA’S PAJAMA PARTY (10 p.m.)
DJ Pickle will be mixing it up at JBA’s Pajama Party on Friday. Attendees are encouraged to wear their most comfortable nightwear while they dance late into the night.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10
DISCO NIGHT WITH MACON POPS AT EMERSON AT PLUM (6:30 p.m.)
The Macon Pops will hold their annual fundraiser on Saturday with music from the era of disco fever. This event will feature a live auction, food from Fountain of Juice, and two free drinks. Tickets start at $150 online and proceeds will benefit the Macon Pops.
SHANE BRIDGES, JOSH CARSON, AND MIKE KINNEBREW AT FISH N PIG (7 p.m.)
The Fish & Pig Seafood Restaurant will be filled with the sounds of live country music on Saturday. Shane Bridges, Josh Carson, and Mike Kinnebrew will be performing and also telling the stories behind the songs. Tickets to this show might be hard to find as they were sold out online at the time of publication.
EMILY NENNI AND TEDDY AND THE ROUGH RIDERS AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)
Emily Nenni is an up-and-coming country music singer and songwriter based in Nashville who will be performing at Grant’s Lounge with Teddy and the Rough Riders on Saturday night. Tickets to this show cost $15 online in advance or at the door.

DJJR AT JBA (10 p.m.)
The enigmatic DJJR will be performing at JBA late on Saturday night.
THE VEAL AT BILLY’S CLUBHOUSE (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
The Middle Georgia rock band The Veal will be performing covers of hit songs from the “70s through the 90s” at Billy’s Clubhouse early into Sunday morning. Billy’s Clubhouse is the North Macon bar and music venue that never has a cover charge.
