Live Entertainment Spotlight in Middle Georgia this Week

The hot and humid month of June concludes this week but thankfully there are a lot of cool events going on to keep you entertained. The following events are sure to keep you entertained, whether your idea of a fun time is listening to live music, beating the competition in a game of trivia, or watching a heartwarming animated movie. 


THURSDAY, June 27th

TAYLOR SWIFT TRIVIA NIGHT AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (7 p.m.)

Macon’s favorite beer garden, The Society Garden, will host a night of Taylor Swift trivia on Thursday. Expect to hear the sounds of Swift’s popular tunes being played during this event for Swifties and their loved ones. The venue will also be serving kids slushies, ice cream, specialty cocktails, and more.

BOB LENNON “BIGGEST FAN TOUR” AT SERENITY ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX (8 p.m.)

Rapper Bob Lennon along with The Blueprint Band will be performing at Serenity Entertainment Complex along with DJ Ric Flare. Tickets start at $10 at this link.

KARAOKE AT JBA WITH FRESH PRODUCE RECORDS (9 p.m.-1:30 a.m.)

Willie D is known for his expansive musical knowledge and his deep cuts of music you have never heard of. He will be hosting karaoke on the big stage at JBA early into Friday morning.


FRIDAY, June 28th

LIVE AT FIVE IN PERRY (5-7 p.m.)

Live in Five is an event from the Perry Main Street Board that features live music from different artists performing on the streets of Downtown Perry. This Friday, the artist filling the air with the sounds of music will be Connor Henderson. Damon Brown is scheduled to perform on July 12th with other artists to be announced. Live at Five is a free, family-friendly event.

HAPPY HOUR WITH GLENN LEWIS AT PUB 96 IN BONAIRE (5:30 p.m.)

Glen Lewis is a singer and songwriter from Middle Georgia who performs Americana, folk, and country music. He will perform at Pub 96 for their happy hour on Friday evening.

MIKE KINNEBREW AND FRIENDS AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8 p.m.)

Mike Kinnebrew and a few of his talented friends will be performing at The Society Garden on Friday. If you need to get in a better mood after a long, trying week at work, watching these musicians play is a great way to do it.

FAIRLY WEATHERED FRIENDS AT VICE BAR (9 p.m.-12 a.m.)

Vice Bar will be the place to hear some funky rock late into the night on Friday. The Fairly Weathered Friends will be playing a mix of cover songs and their originals for this show.

MACHINE FUNK (WIDESPREAD PANIC TRIBUTE BAND) AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)

The Widespread Panic tribute band Machine Funk will perform at Grant’s Lounge this week. Machine Funk performs more than a hundred and fifty of Widespread Panic’s songs, so each of their shows is going to be a bit different. Tickets are $18 at the door or online at this link.

LATIN NIGHT WITH DJ ANGEL AT THE DAISY TEQUILA BAR (9:30 p.m.)

The Daisy Tequila Bar will be presenting their first-ever Latin Night on Friday. DJ Angel will be emceeing and playing music for dancing at the event.

BARDOWN BREAKTOUR FEATURING KEEP FLYING WITH SPECIAL GUEST SENECA BURNS AND OUTATIME LIVE AT THE HUMMINGBIRD (10 p.m.-2 a.m.)

The Bardown Breaktour will be performing pop punk and ska music at The Hummingbird along with special guest bands Keep Flying, Seneca Burns, and Outamine. The cover charge for this concert is $5 at the door.



SATURDAY, June 29th

FAIRLY WEATHERED FRIENDS AT PARISH ON CHERRY ST. (7-10 p.m.)

The Fairly Weathered Friends will have a busy weekend and they will be performing at Parish on Cherry St. Saturday evening. There is no cover charge at this venue but there is plenty of tasty food and cold drinks.

90’S HIP-HOP TRIBUTE WITH NO DIGGITY BAND AT THE SOCIETY GARDEN (8-10 p.m.)

Fans of 90’s hip hop music will want to be at The Society Garden on Saturday night. There will be a hip-hop tribute band with a master of ceremonies. Tickets start at $20 at the gate or online at this link.

BACK N BLACK (AC/DC TRIBUTE BAND) AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE (8 p.m.)

Get ready to be thunderstruck at the Back N Black show at The Capitol Theatre on Saturday. AC/DC has released almost 20 studio albums and 57 singles during their career so Back N Black will have a lot of material to choose from for this show. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the band will be “Breaking the Rules” starting at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $18 at the Capitol’s box office or online at this link.

CORDOVAS AND KENDALL STREET COMPANY AT GRANT’S LOUNGE (9 p.m.)

The rock band Cordovas and Kendall Street Company (who have been compared to bands like Umphrey’s McGee, Widespread Panic, and Pink Floyd) will be playing at Grant’s Lounge on Saturday night. Tickets to this show cost $10 at the door or online at this link.

SUNDAY, June 30th

LIZ AND THE BLUE BIRD MOVIE NIGHT AT HELLO BOBA CAFE (5:30 p.m.)

Liz and the Blue Bird (2018) is an animated movie about the relationship of two musicians in high school as they are practicing for their last concert together. Tickets are only $5 each.

JAZZ IN THE COURTYARD AT THE DOUGLASS THEATRE (7 p.m.)

Jazz in the Courtyard returns to the Douglass Theatre this Sunday with smooth jazz music from Harold E. Thomas. This event is free and open to the public.
