Monday, November 22nd

  • Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra (7:30 - 9:30 p.m.)

The Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra's second concert will take place at the historic Grand Opera House in downtown Macon. The audience will be serenaded with the "Egmont Overture" by Beethoven as well as the "Italian Symphony" by Mendelssohn, along with "orchestrated spirituals" sung by the Beulahland Gospel Choir, according to Mercer University's Townsend School of Music. Tickets for this concert range from $20 to $30 and can be purchased at this link.

Tuesday, November 23rd

  • Thanksgiving In The Neighborhood (6 - 8 p.m.)

L.H. Williams Recreation Center and community partners with the Pleasant Hill Neighborhood Organization and Macon-Bibb Community Enhancement Authority & Community Empowerment Solutions to host this early Thanksgiving celebration for anyone who would like to come. This will be the fifth year of this Pleasant Hill community dinner, although this year will feature “drive-thru style Thanksgiving plates” due to the pandemic. This event will take place at the L.H. Williams Recreation Center is located at 325 Pursley Street in Macon.

Wednesday, November 24th

  • JBA Jazz Wednesdays - Live Jazz (9 p.m. - 12 a.m.)

Every Wednesday JBA hosts an evening of live jazz with Adam Hendley and his trio. Attendees are invited to come jazz dance the night away with Old Fashioneds for $6 and no cover charge for this event. JBA is located at 499 MLK Jr. Boulevard in Macon.

    • Thanksgiving Day Gratitude Flow with Elizabeth! (9:30 a.m.)

    Sparks Yoga hosts a yoga class to start Thanksgiving Day right. This class will focus on gratitude while Elizabeth leads attendees through a yoga flow. Registration is required for this event and to register follow this link. Sparks Yoga is located at 1044 Washington Avenue, Suite 106 at Macon.



    Friday, November 26th

    • Native Plant Hike (10 a.m.)

    Georgia Native Plant Society and Fringed Campion Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society hosts this Native Plant Hike at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. Participants will meet in the Great Temple Mound parking lot. The Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park is located at 1207 Emery Highway in Macon.

    • Macon Pops Christmas Light Extravaganza Concert (6 p.m.)

    The Main Street Christmas Light Extravaganza and Macon Pops will have a free concert to begin the fifth year of the Main Street Christmas Light Extravaganza in downtown Macon. There will be over 500,000 lights that will be synchronized to the music, according to the organizers. This is a very popular event, so if you plan on going arrive early, bring a chair, blanket, or something to get comfortable in, and be aware that there may be road closures and you may have a more difficult time finding parking than usual. The Macon Pops Christmas Light Extravaganza Concert will take place at the intersection of First Street and Poplar Street.

    • Christmas on the Farm in Cochran (6 - 10 p.m.)

    Greene Acres Farm hosts a walk-thru of a Christmas Light display with over 750,000 lights, according to the organizers. There will be an open fire pit for roasting marshmallows and appearances by Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and even the Grinch. Admission is $5 with children 2 and under getting in free. Attendees are asked to park in the rear of the farm for this event. Greene Acres Farm is located at 952 Empire Chester Highway in Cochran.

    • Public Ice Skating after the Macon Mayhem hockey game (Approx. 10 p.m.)

    After the Macon Mayhem hockey game the public is invited to ice skate in the Macon Centreplex. If you attend the game beforehand, you will need to exit and re-enter through the skate entrance. Tickets include the skate rental and will cost $7 and are available for purchase online here or they can be purchased from the Macon Coliseum box office. The Macon Centreplex is located at 200 Coliseum Drive in Macon.

    • Bo Ponder at Grant’s Lounge (9 p.m.)

    Bo Ponder has had a career in music for over half a century, according to Down Home Entertainment. His career started when Otis Redding left his previous band Johnny Jenkins & the Pine Toppers” and the band needed a new singer of the same calibre. Grant’s Lounge is located at 576 Poplar Street in Macon.

    Saturday, November 27th

    • Small Business Saturday (9 a.m.)

    NewTown Macon created this event to encourage shopping at the many small businesses in downtown Macon. Shoppers will have a chance to win a $500 shopping spree by finding a “Shop Small” sticker in any of the participating downtown stores and telling an employee of the store. If you find a sticker, you will also get to keep the exclusive sticker, according to NewTown Macon.

    • Lockerly in Lights in Milledgeville (6 - 9 p.m.)

    Visitors will drive a one mile loop of trees and displays lit up with colorful Christmas lights at the Lockerly Arboretum. Admission to this event is $10 per car (with a limit of 10 passengers) and payment of cash and checks are accepted. This event occurs weekly on Saturdays until December 18th. Lockerly Arboretum is located at 1534 Irwinton Road in Milledgeville.

    • Jamey Johnson at the Macon City Auditorium (8 p.m.)

    Zero Mile and Moonhanger Group are bringing Jamey Johnson with special guests to the Macon City Auditorium. Tickets for this event will be mobile only (meaning you will need to save your ticket to your phone wallet or have a screenshot of your ticket) and there is a clear bag policy, which means any items brought into the venue will need to be in a clear bag. Tickets for this event can be purchased on Ticketmaster at this link and tickets prices start at $39.50. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 8 p.m. The Macon City Auditorium is located at 415 First Street in Macon.

    Sunday, November 28th

    • Public Ice Skating at the Macon Centreplex (12 - 1 p.m. and 2 - 3 p.m.)

    The Macon Centreplex will allow the public to ice skate in 2 one hour sessions. Participants are asked to bring a pair of socks and to bring a clear bag for any items being brought into the venue and masks are also encouraged. Tickets price includes the skate rental and are available for purchase online at this link or they can be purchased from the Macon Coliseum box office. The Macon Centreplex is located at 200 Coliseum Drive in Macon.
