Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra at The Grand Opera House

Roderick Cox will be the guest conductor for the opening of the symphony's second season. 

Cox was the subject of a recently recently documentary from filmmaker Diana Moore titled "Conducting Life". The film details Cox's childhood in Macon and his against the odds dream of becoming the well-known and in demand symphony conductor he currently is.

The Macon-Mercer Symphony under Cox's direction will perform the Smetana Bartered Bride Overture, Ravel Daphnis and Chloé Suite no. 2., as well as Bernstein Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, all "epic love stories across a number of cultures" for this event. 

There will be three more symphony performances during the 2022 - 2023 season taking place on Monday, November 21st, 2022, Monday, February 13rd, 2023, and Monday April 17th, 2023.

Single tickets cost from $25 to 35 and students will receive free entry with valid student ID. Supporter level ticket holders will receive premium seating for $112 and Patron level ticket holders will receive regular seating  for $78 for all four symphony concerts.
