The Little Richard Birthday Celebration is a two-day birthday party at various locations in Macon that honors the iconic performing artist from Macon.

Monday, December 5: The Little Richard Birthday Celebration starts with a reception and Q&A with the author of "Here's Little Richard", Jordan Bassett, at the historic Douglass Theatre at 5 p.m.

Afterward, at 6 p.m., a free screening of the HBO/CNN Films documentary "Little Richard: I Am Everything" will be shown in the Douglas Theatre and light refreshments will be provided. This screening is done in partnership with the Macon Film Guild and the Macon Film Festival.

The Douglass Theatre is located at 355 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Tuesday, December 5: Starting bright and early at 7 a.m., 100.9 The Creek's Creekside Morning Show will air an interview with author Jordan Bassett.  Then Bassett will sign "Here's Little Richard" books and give an author talk in the Washington Memorial Library's Genealogy and History Room.

The Washington Memorial Library is located at 1180 Washington Avenue.

From 2 through 6 p.m., the birthday celebration will take place at the The Little Richard House Resource Center.  

At 2 p.m. as well as 3 to 7 p.m. guests will be invited to visit and tour Little Richard's childhood home. Jordan Bassett will have a book signing at 3 p.m.

From 3 - 7 p.m., there will be a "bouncy house, music, food, [and] desserts". 

Finally, at 6 p.m. attendees will share cake and ice cream in honor of Little Richard.

The event is free to attend and held in partnership with Macon-Bibb CEA. 

The Little Richard House Resource Center is located at 416 Craft Street.

Downtown Macon's Hightails Rooftop Bar at Hotel Forty Five will present the Little Richard Cocktail Party which will include a meet and greet with author Jordan Bassett.

Wednesday, December 6: At The Society Garden, 2389 Ingleside Avenue starting at 5 p.m. A Little Richard Birthday Party will take place and will feature drink specials. This will be followed by Little Richard Bingo from 6 to 8 p.m., which will be hosted by drag queens as an "homage to the Architect of Rock n' Roll".

The final event in the three-day birthday celebration will take place at Grant’s Lounge. From 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., there will be a "Little Richard-centric Macon Music Revue".
