The Ocmulgee River is currently only a few feet below major flooding level, according to the USGS

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) (the science arm of the Department of the Interior) recently released two charts which show that the current levels of the Ocmulgee River due to the torrential rains recently is near major flood levels.

According to one of the charts, from March 21st through March 28th the Ocmulgee River was a little over 25 feet. A major flood stage is defined as being at 30 feet.

Recent rains have led to incredible scenes of the power of nature for some, like the visitors to High Falls who filmed a recent video on Facebook of the huge amounts of water raging over the usually serene natural settings of the scenic waterfall and park.
